VERY nice -- I know what I'm listening to when I get into work. Is that the 'Tienanmen Square' version of "Faith" at the end there?
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 12:40 (sixteen years ago)
So that's why he says "this is for everyone that died today in China" - thanks, and yes, it is.
― StanM, Friday, 14 May 2010 13:09 (sixteen years ago)
The drumless, almost folky version of 2 Late is EXCELLENT (what a shame that song didn't make the album).
― Marco Damiani, Friday, 14 May 2010 13:30 (sixteen years ago)
They will be streaming a full live show (Dallas) from that era starting May 24th on that site as well, by the way.
― StanM, Friday, 14 May 2010 13:41 (sixteen years ago)
wtf
why am I enjoying the demo version of "Closedown" way more than I've ever enjoyed the final, released song
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 14:14 (sixteen years ago)
(ans: because it's only like a minute long)
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 14:15 (sixteen years ago)
Haha well there you go. And it does sound lovely.
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 14:22 (sixteen years ago)
"Babble" instrumental = awesome
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 14:26 (sixteen years ago)
Wish I had Flash player at work so I could listen to these songs before tonight... jealous!
― I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 14 May 2010 14:30 (sixteen years ago)
I do like, um, "Fuknnotfunk," it's like they were still wondering "Wait are we going Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me again with this album or not?"
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 14:33 (sixteen years ago)
is a reissue of an album that I've already purchased on vinyl, cassette, and cd (twice) over the years really going to be my third cd purchase of the year? yeah probably.
― akm, Friday, 14 May 2010 14:47 (sixteen years ago)
If it is of any consolation, I just bought Exile on Main Street for the nth time.
― Marco Damiani, Friday, 14 May 2010 14:59 (sixteen years ago)
my God, I always forget how much I love "Fear of Ghosts"
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 15:06 (sixteen years ago)
finally! is it weird that they didn't include the 12"/extended versions of all the singles though? i like adding as much length to this album as possible.
― SSS, Friday, 14 May 2010 15:11 (sixteen years ago)

is it weird that they didn't include the 12"/extended versions of all the singles though?
Those'll be included in the Mixed Up reissue, I figure.
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 15:32 (sixteen years ago)
They were *supposed* to be what the original "Mixed up" was going to be comprised of.
My guess: A box set of CD singles, one day...
― Mark G, Friday, 14 May 2010 15:38 (sixteen years ago)
A version of Mixed Up without that Orbit remix of "Inbetween Days" or the Saunders remix of "A Forest" is a Mixed Up I refuse to contemplate.
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 15:39 (sixteen years ago)
The drumless, almost folky version of 2 Late is EXCELLENT
That it is.
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 16:14 (sixteen years ago)
I'm impressed that this is the stuff they left off the actual bonus disk.
― StanM, Friday, 14 May 2010 16:16 (sixteen years ago)
oh boy, that harmony line on "Lovesong"... taking that out was a good move
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 16:22 (sixteen years ago)
oh holy fuck, this iteration of "Prayers For Rain"
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 16:26 (sixteen years ago)
basically PFR is a career-defining song that is impossible for them to do poorly
― Have a slice of wine! (HI DERE), Friday, 14 May 2010 16:29 (sixteen years ago)
I noticed that and went "Er."
For a half second in "Prayers For Rain" I thought he was about to let loose the held note!
Can't wait to hear the full Dallas show based on these tracks they've got here!
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 16:37 (sixteen years ago)
Good grief, and the conclusion of "Disintegration" from that show!
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 16:42 (sixteen years ago)
Similarly the extra guitar at the end of "Untitled." This band, I gotta say.
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 14 May 2010 16:49 (sixteen years ago)
I love these guys so fucking much

That "Faith" is just killing me. It's like it's personal or something.
― Lostandfound, Saturday, 15 May 2010 05:27 (sixteen years ago)
wow what sad hater put together that fanboyanatomy.jpg
feel bad for that guy
― in which we apologize for sobering up (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Saturday, 15 May 2010 12:29 (sixteen years ago)
These "discarded" rarities have me p stoked for the box - £11.99 on Amazon UK is top value for me as I don't have Disintegration in anything other than vinyl & downlooted mp3.
Disintegration has really grown on me in recent years, despite my hissy fit about it beating Faith, Pornography & Seventeen Seconds in the albums poll. I think it might be second behind Pornography for me now.
― this skit is ba-na-nas (onimo), Saturday, 15 May 2010 12:43 (sixteen years ago)
oh did u say disintegration was better than faith? funny that I can still hear you seeing as how you are DEAD TO ME
― in which we apologize for sobering up (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Saturday, 15 May 2010 12:46 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, I'd take Faith over Pornography I think.
― BLOODY BOLLOCKS HELL! (aldo), Saturday, 15 May 2010 12:55 (sixteen years ago)
Faith for me as well as the album above all the others. I never tire of it.
― Ned Raggett, Saturday, 15 May 2010 13:00 (sixteen years ago)
oh did u say faith was better than all the rest?funny that I can still hear you seeing as how youare NED TO ME
― StanM, Saturday, 15 May 2010 13:18 (sixteen years ago)
So I assume these outtake, er, outtakes will get officially released at some point, right? Stream-only is like a sucker punch tease.
― Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 15 May 2010 13:46 (sixteen years ago)
lol no Stan I put Pornography over Faith but to say Faith < Disintegration is still madness to me
tbh though I think I've listened to the Cure exactly once in the past 10 years and am mainly just memory-laneing here for lols
― in which we apologize for sobering up (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Saturday, 15 May 2010 13:51 (sixteen years ago)
xpost -- No I'm figuring this is it for any kind of formal release. There's the download link above that's posted if you want a rip of the stream.
― Ned Raggett, Saturday, 15 May 2010 14:17 (sixteen years ago)
I am still missing the b-sides from those 2 CD Deluxe editions. Yes, I know they are all on "Join The Dots", but they would sort of complete the individual albums had they been included on those second CDs instead of some of those alternative versions or live versions.
― Tied Up In Geir (Geir Hongro), Saturday, 15 May 2010 16:45 (sixteen years ago)
Like Ned says. It's been, what, nine years since they last did a similar streaming microsite of unreleased alt versions, and no sign of a release on those.
(it's a huge shame on this one, if they could have just released Entreat Plus as it's own album!)
― Wang Chung Parliament (sic), Saturday, 15 May 2010 23:37 (sixteen years ago)
So.. Delirious Night! I love it! I wonder why they didn't do something proper with that?
― piscesx, Sunday, 16 May 2010 23:12 (sixteen years ago)
Huh? Already? Just got a message, the 3cd has been despatched from universal.co.uk
― StanM, Wednesday, 19 May 2010 12:54 (sixteen years ago)
Nice!
― I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Wednesday, 19 May 2010 15:14 (sixteen years ago)
Sadly I don't think this is true - looks like it's just going to be the tracks from Disintegration, rather than the whole show :-( Also it's not streaming yet, anyway.
― toby, Monday, 24 May 2010 10:32 (sixteen years ago)
Looks like you're right, I hadn't looked at the setlist before. :-(Still, I don't expect it to be bad :-)
