I got the last 3 or so hours. Was listening until T Rex then went to catch up on some TV. Now I can listen to the rest in realtime, like it'll end around the time it ended for them!

Gee, Officer (Gukbe), Monday, 26 April 2010 12:50 (sixteen years ago)

yeah it went on for a bit longer even after the stream died. last couple were The Chain by Fleetwood Mac and Seven Days by Chuck Wood.

piscesx, Monday, 26 April 2010 12:51 (sixteen years ago)

if I get something a tenth (I had to think that figure through. Half? No that's still lots. Quarter? Still!) as good as this when they visit my lowly town next month, I'm going to die happy and such.

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Monday, 26 April 2010 20:18 (sixteen years ago)

I have like the last 3 or so hours, but there's a few weird breaks due to streaming dropping out. I figured somebody will upload the whole thing shortly, but tif they don't, I can.

wow! almost as blown away by the activity on this thread as i was by sunday night. :)

here's a few responses -

Haha and instead we get Suicide. ("Ghostrider" would have been too obvious I guess!)

"ghostrider" was cueued up at one point!

what's this playing under TV On The Radio?

"walking trough heaven" by chris and cosey

though they do seem to be hitting a lot of classics tonight.

i had lots of new music and things i'd never managed to but always wanted to play with me. i also had the greatest hits of optimo. we could have played literally anything we wanted to but i think one of the things about the night was always picking up on the energy of the crowd, and sunday simply felt like the greatest party i've ever been to. it would have felt too self indulgent to have done anything else than to have played a party set (it would also have been a bit rough on the several hundred who didn't get in who went home to listen or remained outside and were listening on their phones).

we recorded the night with microphones placed around the club to capture the crowd noise. i haven't heard the awdio stream but i have a feeling you are only getting 50% of the story. the noise from the dancefloor was astonishing (there's quite a few points where we cut the music and they are singing along). we also had a secondary sound system in for the night and when we switched that on around midnight, the roar was deafening. the second pa also made mixing quite tricky so i'm going to blame any shoddy mixing on that. :)

i'll check how the recording came out next week and will then hopefully post up a link to the full recording with crowd noise.

d'you reckon there's still a queue?

there was still a queue at 2.30am. most people had given up by then but a few determined folks waited it out so we squeezed them in. we estimate that around 1500-2000 tried to get in. by opening so early, we thought a lot of people would come for a few hours and then leave so others could get in but it simply didn't happen. almost everyone wanted to stay until the end.

Wicked Game (Trentemoller Businessman Dubby Games Remix)

thanks! only ever had a white label and never knew who had done it.

last couple were The Chain by Fleetwood Mac and Seven Days by Chuck Wood.

it was meant to end with nina but then the club owner grabbed the mic and made a wee speech. i didn't want that to be the last thing ever heard at the club so played some more.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 12:42 (sixteen years ago)

What was the track that led into Hung Up?

PaulTMA, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 12:45 (sixteen years ago)

"walking trough heaven" by chris and cosey

thank you!

mdskltr (blueski), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 13:16 (sixteen years ago)

(there's quite a few points where we cut the music and they are singing along)

this would explain the occasional cuts lasting a few seconds then. thought it was just a buffering issue ha.

mdskltr (blueski), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 13:18 (sixteen years ago)

"walking trough heaven" - of course should read through, not trough.

track that led up to "hung up", i think was -

Can't wait! And thanks again for arranging the stream on the day!

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 14:20 (sixteen years ago)

yeah that was great

dmr, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 14:37 (sixteen years ago)

Holy shit, the capacity of the club is only a few hundred, right? What time did you guys start playing?

Oh boy, sleep! That's where I'm Ann Reinking! (Stevie D), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 14:48 (sixteen years ago)

capacity is officially 400 but can actually fit 550+ in. we played 9pm - 4am.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 14:57 (sixteen years ago)

Wow, I wonder how long you had to be in line to actually make it in

Oh boy, sleep! That's where I'm Ann Reinking! (Stevie D), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 15:00 (sixteen years ago)

so did you have 400 people in from the start? sounded like there was a major switch to dancier stuff around 10.30-11 but i guess with so little room for dancing that wasn't really an issue anyway. xp

mdskltr (blueski), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 15:02 (sixteen years ago)

I'm assuming they did, did you see the picture of the line in broad daylight?

Oh boy, sleep! That's where I'm Ann Reinking! (Stevie D), Tuesday, 27 April 2010 15:07 (sixteen years ago)

it was full within about 30 minutes of the doors opening (took a while to get people in). the start of the night was always our chance to play music not for dancing to although on sunday, people were dancing to even the most undanceable music at the start.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 15:36 (sixteen years ago)

I'm trying to imagine people dancing to "Song of the Siren"...

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 27 April 2010 15:37 (sixteen years ago)

You roll around on the ground with someone while really bright headlights shine on you
