Also got onto this album pretty late but really dig it - the last track is a thing of beauty, like Jackie Mittoo produced by Conny Plank or uh something

Ah, I thought from the price on Rough Trade it was a cheap LP rather than an expensive EP. And apparently Norman Records have sold out of them despite them only arriving yesterday. Time to shop around...

saw these guys last night in Denver -- hollly shit, they were good. would highly recommend them to anyone. kind of worried their records are going to start sounding limp in comparison!

These guys are pretty directly up my alley, loving the Pure Moods EP right now.

They were definitely a nice surprise at Pitchfork.

is this their thing, playing nontraditional venues? the denver show they played was a totally random head shop/record store/art space that i'd never heard of before and haven't heard of since. god, it was so good.

It is sometimes their thing, not always.
They've all got a lot of experience with touring and playing rock shows. Sometimes a non-traditional space is just more attractive.
Sometimes, getting paid is.

they may have been paid in weed at the show i saw.

as noted upthread, they were pretty godlike for me when i saw 'em last year.

that video is great -- there are lots of recognizable places, but the parts i like best are the anonymous intersections.

Ha. La Lechera, I dj'd that gig in absentia. Cooper just used a bunch of mix tapes i've made for him over the years for the incidental music.
i was surprised that dude who used to pretty much only play keys was now pretty much only playing guitar.

They played in town on Halloween. I got to sing a cover of "Sister Ray" with them at the end of the set. Lots of fun.

All I remember from your mix was Bohannon but it was enjoyable!

We didn't play it for twenty minutes. I sang maybe three verses and improvised a "freakout" that climaxed with repetition of the phrase "don't shake me, lucifer." We were going to cover a Roky Erickson song but current events changed our original plan.

'silver headband' on the new one is so sick. not many can evoke the neu! vibe without resorting to a generic motorik beat. agree with tyler on the rest of it pulling serious fusion moves.

i had heard the reason cave hadn't been playing shows was cuz the drummer had moved. but your guess is as good as mine whether or not he'll be playing new years. i hope he is, though
