273. Bunnybrains-Live@Fireside Bowl Chicago,2002 CDR (not as mind-melting as the new haven set that i started this thread with, but damn near as screeeeeechtastic. the fidelity is oddly neither high nor low, but at some sickly mid-point that only adds to to the addled confusion. very to live and shaveish to these ears. you missed a good set at the knitting factory a couple weeks ago too! great cyber-violence with pillows and samplers and al b.sure records and dancing unwed mothers!)

347. sun City girls .. Horse cock Phepner

Dr. Annabel Lies (Michael Kelly), Saturday, 10 January 2004 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

why yes i did. of jad's 90's on work, his stuff with Mr. Willett is always the best. it should be noted, though, that i am mad about Half Japanese, Jad and David.

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i enjoyed the actual cd. i think i listened to most of it. but even you will have to admit that 155 songs on one cd is a good definition of "extreme".

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i think we are just looking at extreme differently -- im connecting it up to more of a noise thing, which i dont think superfine fits into comfortable. if its just extreme, then yeah -- that many songs on one album would fit as well as half japanese's 3LP debut on armageddon (not counting singles and tapes).

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:24 (twenty-two years ago)

354. Nurse with wound .... Chance meeting on a dissecting table of an umbrella and a sewing machine

Dr. Annabel Lies (Michael Kelly), Saturday, 10 January 2004 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

"noise" is more easily defined i think. "extreme" is definitely in the eye of the beholder. way up top, i mentioned that if someone were to list Scott Walker's Tilt it would be an understandable choice. It's extreme emotionally and unsettling and yet it's not noise or anything. i was being a little silly with the liquid tapedeck and the jad, but they fit well enough for me in that they go above and beyond and over the top length-wise and are, to say the least, an acquired taste.over the top can equal extreme. how many people will ever have the fortitude to listen to all 155 songs? besides died-in-the-wool half jap fans.but i will put a lid on the silly only cuz i don't want people to start listing barry manilow box-sets or otherwise trad bores that people find irritating to the max. NOT that i'm comparing jad and barry! although, i'm sure they would get along famously.(this is why i listed Wagner. not cuz it's noise but cuz it's a challenge. both physically and mentally. listening to 155 jad fair songs, to me, is a challenge both physical and mental. and yet, i could listen to grindcore and death metal and sheet metal scraping layabouts all the live long day without blinking an eye.)

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 10 January 2004 04:02 (twenty-two years ago)

'noise' is what you hate scott so surely the barry mannilow sets would count ;)
