i like this pretty well, its a conservative, east-coast-internet-rap-nerd-friendly bay record that is actually very good -- it must be strong bcuz that sort of thing usually drives me up the wall.

jacka's style isnt dry at all -- his voice is super-smoked out & laid back. his appeal isn't dryness in an ny style like this. his vocals are actually way more impressionistic/emotionally-heavy than detached/dry

i actually don't have time right now,

but i was kinda kicking around the idea of not listening to any new rap/hip-hop anymore.

young money represents a death of hip hop in a way i can't even really fully articulate, and though i do appreciate a lot of the dudes deej and others here have pointed out sometimes i feel like i'm just going through the motions of being a fan of current hip hop.

seeing lex and rtc talk about nicki minaj seriously on that thread -- and i totally understand that it's lex's job to like shit like that -- but god it's just...ugh.

imo get into davinci first, then give up

im extremely unexcited about this year's crop of 'buzzed' rappers, im mostly just enjoying the past three years of bay area raps from mob figaz & livewire crews. thats basically all im feeling right now -- then going back & listening to old shit i missed out on.
