that chick i posted about last week who knew the dude w/ the last name Goon prefaced her stanning for him by saying that he did a song w/ j-kwon and i wanted to be like "that's literally one of the least impressive things that someone could tell me, out of anything in the world that you could tell me"

off-topic but I just came to the conclusion that Just Blaze's voice is awesome in the exact way that Premo's voice is awesome and I enjoy hearing him yelling on records

J-Kwon's label hasn't been paying attention, I'm pretty sure nobody's seen him in about 5 years. actually a couple years ago he did a song with Andy Milonakis (unlike Three 6 who just went on his show).
Hood Hop may be the greatest one hit wonder teen rapper album ever, great production and completely bizarre voice and grimy lyrics.

The song was featured in the films Breakin' All the Rules, White Chicks and Soul Plane, as well as in the video game L.A. Rush. J-Kwon performed the song on the Season 29 finale of Saturday Night Live.
# Jimmy Fallon's final episode. J-Kwon's second performance was cut so there would be time to air Fallon's farewell sketch.
^this is kind of sad

jimmy should redeem j-kwon by letting him perform on late night -- i think i would dig hearing the roots doing "tipsy"
― HOOM gang (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 3 March 2010 08:59 (fourteen years ago) link
kind of amazed they even intended to let him do a 2nd song, "Hood Hop" on SNL would have been magical. the Grease thing they did for Fallon's last sketch was pretty funny tho.

from what i've read if the final scene of lost was the group doing a karaoke rendition of "tipsy" on the island (if they are still there) that it wouldn't be more ridiculous than some of the things that are happening this season

there's just a character named Jin-Soo Kwon (who I'm absolutely positive the writers named after J-Kwon) who his wife has been looking for for the last couple seasons

Lil Wayne jail sentence postponed after court fire
Rapper Lil Wayne's sentencing for gun possession has been postponed for a second time after a courtroom fire.
He was due to be sentenced on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty in October to charges arising from a 2007 arrest when a gun was found on his tour bus.
The fire at the New York state court complex injured eight people. It is not clear when he will now be sentenced.

Shots were fired, though no one was hit, during an altercation between groups affiliated with local rappers Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy that closed Walter's Clothing in downtown Atlanta for about 30 minutes.
The fight started around 4 p.m. Thursday when Mane's group walked into the store -- popular with celebrities -- and spotted Jeezy's associates, said witness Patrick Morrison.
"There was a physical altercation inside the location between several men," Atlanta police spokesman James Polite confirmed to the AJC. One of the men produced a weapon "and as a result a private armed security guard of a local entertainer discharged his weapon."
Polite said the security guard, employed by local rapper Waka Flocka Flame, has been detained.
The fighting was intense, witnesses said. "They just started going at it," said Morrison, a Walter's employee.
Waka Flocka Flame, aka Juaqin Malphurs, is a member of Gucci Mane's 1017 Brick Squad. His pseudonym alludes to the sound of cocking a semi-automatic pistol.
"Whoever he is he's got a big swollen eye now," Morrison said.
In January, Malphurs was shot in the arm while washing his car on Old National Highway. Police said he was approached at the Bubble Bath car wash by armed men demanding his jewelry.

Hip-hop heads have something big to look forward to on Monday (March 8), which is when T.I.’s comeback record, “I’m Back,” will officially hit the streets. The Atlanta rapper’s Web site, TrapMuzik.com, teased promotional artwork yesterday, announcing the record’s drop date.
“I’m Back” will be T.I.’s first song since being released to a halfway house in December 2009 after serving eight months in prison for felony firearm possession. The production duo behind the track, Trackslayerz, told VIBE the song sounds like classic T.I., circa early 2000s.
“This record right here kinda reminds me of the Urban Legend T.I.,” said Trackslayerz’s Price, referring to the rapper’s 2004 album. “But it’s from the point of when he got locked up. It’s no fall off [with] the lyricism. It’s like he’s completely focused. T.I. went extremely hard. He went in.”
His production partner, Inf, added, “The track is hard. It brings you back to the old T.I. It’s like a 'U Don’t Know Me' type track. It’s pretty hard. He’s coming back with the aggressive, mean kind of swag. It’s definitely a [street single].”
