This. (Though, from what Matos told me, it's much more in the vein of the former, and the latter is being left off because it would be way out of place and wouldn't even work as a coda in the way "Honey" did.)

Gotta admit, "Jump" has definitely gotten quite a few more plays on my iTunes.

It's less wild-ass than the first one; it ranges pretty widely while staying pretty resolutely R&B. Kind of Mama's Gun refracted through Pt. 1. Lots of piano and bass, a good amount of studio treatment but super approachable--the old fans who lost her w/Pt. 1 will like this a lot, I think. Last few songs get really torchy. A lyric that stood out: "I'm on my front porch rockin'/Like Lightnin' Hopkins." I think the above-linked preview says it well.

jump up in the air has gotten progressively more jawdropping with repeated plays. it's pretty raw psych funk. wayne's wasted verse works but doesn't really add anything of value

Love the fact that the metallic reverb from "Hydraulic Pump" only surfaces a couple times during the track.

i cannot wait.

On twitter at the moment, Erykah is on a frantic quest to get in touch with Paul McCartney via Stella via Lenny Kravitz so she can clear a Paul McCartney sample for the album within the next 24 hours. Or else one song won't make the album. :S
