You'd probably hate the album then because all of it's done using those voice samples as the building blocks for the tracks. I love the comical feel it lends the music. These are all funny, silly-sounding songs on the one hand, but on the other they're all so damn light and graceful and sensual. Which is a pretty good trick IMO...

I suppose that's the downside with polls getting a lot of votes it means niche stuff doesn't do that well.

I hoped YOB and Cobalt would make it but they wont beat Baroness. Im not even sure Converge will make it.

Listened to half of the Girls album when it came out, shrugged, moved on.

Listened to the whole Matias Aguayo, actively didn't like, have somewhat come around now but not fully.

Would vote Baroness on packaging alone - that's Tuskesque, only even better.

shouldn't shock anybody that it was not a big year for crossover metal--i mean converge/mastodon/sunn/baroness are all like 3-7 albums deep or something, could they really be getting many new fans? and no monster debuts/career peaks afaict (maybe blue record is a career peak, i don't know)
