okay, here's my take on You Belong With Me: Taylor is the type of person we all knew in high school; lots of male friends (she just gets along with them better, women are "too catty"), and instead of asking the guy she likes out she spends four years dropping passive aggressive insults about the girls he dates ("she doesn't get your humor like I do!"/"she listens to the WORST music!"/"cheerleaders are so lame!") hoping that eventually this guy will pick up on it. Of course, he never will because a) he made the decision to be friends with Taylor because he has no romantic interest in her, b) Taylor has been undermining herself through the friendship by consistently being harsh, negative and manipulative in an attempt to cast a soft yellow light on herself and c) if even jokingly her male friend ever mentioned the idea of a romantic relationship between them, Taylor would play it off because for all her posturing and smack-talking, she will never have the self-esteem needed to believe she's "worthy" of him. If this guy is all that she thinks and more, he can do better. I knew and know women like this: I don't want to hear them talk and I certainly don't want to hear them sing.

But if you like 20 year olds who pretend they are 16 year olds who act like they're 13 year olds then that's cool for you. I simply don't get the appeal.

ANYWAY let me post everything else

i actually thought the list was pretty amazing and had only heard about 6 songs off it before. i can't believe adults would listen to songs like the one at number one but there you go, you learn something new every day.

i appreciate the effort.
