well about the last word i would use for the xx would be 'insecure', but i understand how people could feel the opposite way of me in terms of the statue thing -- i enjoyed fever ray too and don't think she merits three of the fifty tracks

I didn't say insecure. I think they have fairly large egos actually. I just said insincere. Seems like a total put on. (talking about the xx)

I've seen them live and wasn't impressed. Lots of similar note plucking. Zero energy. Not that GB have much to offer in that department on stage, however I will say their musicianship , particularly the drummer and Daniel Rossen, left me completely impressed. Maybe I need to see the XX again, but when I saw them they seemed a bit smug, bored and droll

Well don't rise to it, and don't lash out at the entire site. If you start quarrelling with everyone who makes a comment you don't like, this isn't going to be much fun.

It never really was THAT much fun to begin with....While I appreciate the advice, someone needs to call a spade a spade, otherwise we just go around in solipsistic circles circle jerking and commending one another's obscure/simultaneously majorly mainstream music tastes, no?

GrizzBear mostly a snoozefest, but 'Two Weeks' is unfuckwithable. Same goes for AnCo's 'My Girls', but the rest of their catalogue is larger and far more annoying, so yes they need to be destroyed first.

one thing i like abt anco is the sprawl of what they've produced and all the ideas picked up toyed with and tossed back on the pile.

There's hardly anyone kicking out AC in the - I'm guessing mostly American - replies. Phoenix is all time, DP is p good still, never cared for Grizzly Bear.

To me the Dirty Projectors & Grizzly Bear albums are unimpeachable classics. AC is eh and hasn't aged well, never got into Phoenix.

Also DP & GB released their best albums within the last 3 years, still going strong.

YYYs are the only one of these acts I was ever a fan of (and mostly the 1st album).
