for me I Gotta Feeling is like a James Cameron movie - cheesy and dramatic and formulaic almost to a fault but when you are listening you can't help but enjoy it.

Also - David Guetta is amazing

this is what the-dream said to me about making "fancy":

There's only one song on this list that I actively dislike: "Lust For Life". Just don't get the appeal at all. Other than that: best 2009 list ever!

I voted Right Side of My Brain, because Fancy-->Brain is fuxxing epic. Can't complain if Fancy was the one that made it.

Joy Orbison - I guess you have to really be into dance music to understand why this is great.

One reason I'm not a bigger fan of Taylor Swift is I'm not really all that into the sound of her music. But the songwriting has an undeniable emotional punch for me much of the time; and I have to admit she is an example of music in which the lyrics, and the relationship between the lyrics and the delivery, end up being a big part of what I like.
