(btw Cedric, the vocalist on Reckless With Your Love is hopefully due to collab with Friendly Fires on their 2010 album, which is more techno inspired.)

De que estas hablando? (Tannenbaum Schmidt), Friday, 29 January 2010 18:50 (sixteen years ago)

I'm loving this run but it's making me worry that we'll get through all the tracks I like now and then the top 20'll be, like, all GAPDY.

lords of hyrule (c sharp major), Friday, 29 January 2010 18:54 (sixteen years ago)

haha yeah i was gonna say, it's taking a long time for this list to get boring

zvookster, Friday, 29 January 2010 18:58 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, that's what I was thinking earlier when I asked if folks anticipated more dance. Here's to hoping.

maciej recognizing trill, Friday, 29 January 2010 19:07 (sixteen years ago)

yeah the list has been especially dope today

"reckless with your love" is sick -- can't remember if i voted for it or not but i it pwns "hungry for the power"

it just has that... feel

yay, House of House was my #1!

yay for "Hey Playa!"

yay for Azari & III! I voted for the other single though, which I hope still places

xp: and now I have something new to check out

tza nicholas ii (The Reverend), Friday, 29 January 2010 19:43 (sixteen years ago)

legitimately never even heard of this song

i guess it's dubstep?

Goon's Anatomy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 January 2010 19:44 (sixteen years ago)

Another track I didn't vote for but really like.

maciej recognizing trill, Friday, 29 January 2010 19:45 (sixteen years ago)

"aidy's girl" is SO GORGEOUS

xps - yeah it was (finally) released on the hyperdub comp w/ikonika, 2000f & j kamata, cooly g, joker and zomby - guido and subeena also fit under this umbrella - the way the melody develops slays me

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Friday, 29 January 2010 19:47 (sixteen years ago)

legitimately never even heard of this song 25% of these songs

w/that i'm off out, hold it down 4 me

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Friday, 29 January 2010 19:48 (sixteen years ago)

I'm really liking this list so far

Dan S, Friday, 29 January 2010 19:49 (sixteen years ago)

i haven't voted for any of these yet, but about 60% of them would've made a top fifty. It's a great run.

forksclovetofu, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:01 (sixteen years ago)

man totally forgot to vote for House of House.

yeah i don't think i voted for any of these apart from Tirsdagsjam but I love it all pretty much! Except for AnCo (still zzzz) and Florence/XX (liked ok but wouldn't vote for). I even love Raindrops now - remember sampling it and being bored, but I think I wasn't in the right frame of mind at the time.

this thread may also be singlehandedly changing my perception of dubstep/wonky/funky/whatevs-honestly-can't-tell-this-stuff-apart, what little of it i've been exposed to mostly bored me to tears but the Guido is great and the Darkstar track is really lovely.

/= funky! The funky tracks here are "Inflation" and "In the Morning".

musically, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:22 (sixteen years ago)

aw, i was holding out for fancy.

forksclovetofu, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:23 (sixteen years ago)

haha oh. seriously i know nothing about anything! didn't keep up with music much at all last year - major life changes and shit. xxp

Roz, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:23 (sixteen years ago)

"60% of them would've made a top fifty."
well, top three or four hundred at least

forksclovetofu, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:23 (sixteen years ago)

WHAT UP

xxxp

max ipad (k3vin k.), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:24 (sixteen years ago)

everyone stans for this guy hard here but this song strikes me as rather nondescript, sorry to say

musically, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:24 (sixteen years ago)

give it time, this song snuck up on me after the tenth play or thereabouts.

Roz, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:26 (sixteen years ago)

As for myself, the Guido and Darkstar aren't really doing anything to combat my perception of dubstep, although other stuff has. :(

tza nicholas ii (The Reverend), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:26 (sixteen years ago)

"Rockin' That Shit" has such a purrrdy melody

tza nicholas ii (The Reverend), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:28 (sixteen years ago)

voted for "right side of my brain" but figured it wasn't going to place, so i threw in a "rockin' that shit" vote too. (at least, i think so. don't have my ballot in front of me.)

hellzapoppa (tipsy mothra), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:28 (sixteen years ago)

I've actually heard it on the radio before, I was surprised because I had read about him all over ILM and never realized I'd heard him before. It's just one of those songs you hear on the radio, don't hate it don't love it.

musically, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:29 (sixteen years ago)

btw roz, I would be curious to know your opinion of the two funky tracks

tza nicholas ii (The Reverend), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:30 (sixteen years ago)

man, i bucked enjoying the dream for SO LONG; couldn't understand what the hubbub was and then I got into the concept album part of Love vs Money and I just got my goddamn mind blown. Tracks 2-7 (and the lil' jon at 14) are solid pop hits but love v money/love v money 2/fancy/rightside of my brain/mr. yeah/12 play should really be one monster proggy rnb untracked lovesexy style jam because that would be my song of the year without a doubt

forksclovetofu, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:33 (sixteen years ago)

can't really remember the crazy cousins tune rn but "in the morning" is fucking great. xp

Roz, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:35 (sixteen years ago)

"Take U Home to My Mama" and "Mr. Yeah" are still my faves on the album, but I can't for the life of me remember if I voted for either one of those or "Rockin' That Shit".

maciej recognizing trill, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:36 (sixteen years ago)

Where's all the roots rock?

kornrulez6969, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:36 (sixteen years ago)

Off the top 50, where it belongs.

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:44 (sixteen years ago)

was that a joke post or

Goon's Anatomy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:45 (sixteen years ago)

screw roots rock! where's of montreal?

tza nicholas ii (The Reverend), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:47 (sixteen years ago)

25 -- Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (13 votes, 127.5 points, 1 #1 vote/s) (11 in P&J, 83 in p4k)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgKrzdaDQMw

musically, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:47 (sixteen years ago)

another dope video

Goon's Anatomy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:49 (sixteen years ago)

Gaga has the right idea: pay some super hot actor like Askars to make out with you under the pretense of a "music video"

musically, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:49 (sixteen years ago)

ok i was pretty sure that was going to be a lot higher

srsly? im a fucking unicorn you douchebags (jjjusten), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:55 (sixteen years ago)

"bad romance" will be really high up

Goon's Anatomy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:55 (sixteen years ago)

was that a joke post or

I don't know, really, and maybe it'll make more sense in a year... you know, when Fleet Foxes or whoever the fuck else pinch out a deuce onto the Pfork-reading masses and their "Beach Boys-esque" harmonizing seduces enough ILM voters to go top 25. At that point, feel free to reinterpret my "joke post" as you see fit...

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:58 (sixteen years ago)

"Bad Romance" top 5 easily, btw.

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 29 January 2010 20:59 (sixteen years ago)

ok rev just listened to "Inflation" again and yeah digging it, the xylophone melody is madness.

"Paparazzi". -_-

can't remember if i voted for it, but yeah if there's going to be any gaga on this list then "Bad Romance" better place higher!

Roz, Friday, 29 January 2010 20:59 (sixteen years ago)

i meant kingkong's post, stephen

Goon's Anatomy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 January 2010 21:00 (sixteen years ago)

would *KILL* to see Lady Gaga on Jersey Shore Season 2.

er, kornrulez

Goon's Anatomy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 January 2010 21:00 (sixteen years ago)

paparazzi was the song that brought me around on lady gaga. happy to see it here.

kaygee, Friday, 29 January 2010 21:01 (sixteen years ago)

Whoops!
