yeah i ask because the samples on there are taken from fabric 36, which is hopefully just for convenience, but who knows.

report back on the plat Unfortunately I don't actually have it, I just saw it on discogs. report back on the plat
Unfortunately I don't actually have it, I just saw it on discogs.
You'd think something like this would have been really hyped up to, but then again, that's probably the point of releasing it himself, as to not create a giant anticipatory build up.

mehlt, Monday, 12 November 2007 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

not everything on there is from the fabric album, right? baila sin petit only exists as leaked mp3 at this point i think.

elan, Monday, 12 November 2007 01:13 (eighteen years ago)

elan -- i mean the audio samples that are also on fabric 36 are just ripped from the cd. ie the vox from four wheel drive are clearly audible on the fitzpatrick sample.

resolved, Monday, 12 November 2007 10:14 (eighteen years ago)

i'm pretty sure it's his own label...
but no "four wheel drive"? bastards!

pshrbrn, Monday, 12 November 2007 13:19 (eighteen years ago)

ohh xpost
kind of lame

elan, Tuesday, 13 November 2007 00:00 (eighteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

so the track that he and luciano have been playing out with the children's vocals is apparantly ricardo villalobos ft. christian vander - infants. i assume christian vander is just sampled but i still find it cool that ricardo is a magma fan

r1o natsume, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 07:13 (eighteen years ago)

Is that the one in thisclip hopefully so, because it sounds really great!

mehlt, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 18:19 (eighteen years ago)

it's just a looped piano and some children chanting... it does sound great in a set but again, firmly a DJ tool (he tends to play it with a separate drum track mixed in underneath it). i'm surprised it's getting released really.

resolved, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 19:26 (eighteen years ago)

so jaded...

r1o natsume, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

why? i like it

resolved, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 20:12 (eighteen years ago)

i'm just surprised that what sounds to be such a simple, distinctive tool is seeing public release, and so quickly (on cadenza apparently)

resolved, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 20:15 (eighteen years ago)

(you can hear the track properly in luciano's set from bucharest last month. he starts out with it...)

resolved, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 20:21 (eighteen years ago)

It's not going to be relegated to Cadenza's Split Composition territory?

BleepBot, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 20:25 (eighteen years ago)

i didn't think of that. but apparently it's been assigned cat no 24 in the regular series

resolved, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

it would be surprising if it wasn't going to make cadenza a lot of money

elan, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 23:14 (eighteen years ago)

not sure where you got that, resolved, but cadenza 24 is a single from reboot (aka frank heinrich): "be tougher" b/w "letters from lucy."

pshrbrn, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 10:09 (eighteen years ago)

From the Fact article w/ Luciano:

"Can we expect a follow-up to 'No Model No Tool'?

It's in the pipeline - it's 'Enfants' by Ricardo Villalobos. It's a magic record! You will be surprised!"

It's at this point I'd like to say I asked you so!

BleepBot, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

heh, nice work.

pshrbrn, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

has anyone heard this Sei Es Drum release?

groovemaaan, Thursday, 3 January 2008 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah. The stuff from the Fabrix mix sounds fine on its own, I think, and the other three are pretty cool as well.

maciej recognizing trill, Thursday, 3 January 2008 23:39 (eighteen years ago)

err, Fabric, obviously

maciej recognizing trill, Thursday, 3 January 2008 23:41 (eighteen years ago)

i hope he doesn't forget about the flight again

elan, Friday, 18 January 2008 04:09 (eighteen years ago)

so enfants is coming out on sei es drum, not cadenza. maybe cadenza backed out from such committing such a flagrant infringement of copyright. (after all, enfants is just looped sections of a christian vander track with an added backbeat).

resolved, Saturday, 26 January 2008 18:36 (eighteen years ago)

thanks jim

whatever, Saturday, 26 January 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

maybe heresy, but i hate easy lee with a vengeance

whatever, Saturday, 26 January 2008 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

I don't hate it, but I don't need to hear it ever again.

jim, Saturday, 26 January 2008 21:10 (eighteen years ago)

don't need to hear it ever again equals hate in my book.

btw do you (or anyone) know what is the last track in the mary ann hobbs mix?

whatever, Saturday, 26 January 2008 21:46 (eighteen years ago)

"don't need to hear it ever again equals hate in my book."

woah there. slow down.

BleepBot, Sunday, 27 January 2008 20:36 (eighteen years ago)

yay ric y martin is back! their perlon release is an all time classic imho.

r1o natsume, Sunday, 27 January 2008 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

There was the Ric y Martin 12" on Perlon and then a Stephan Laubner with one Ric y Martin track on it too. Both were recently re-pressed.

jim, Sunday, 27 January 2008 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

And I ordered one of them but haven't got it yet.

jim, Sunday, 27 January 2008 20:48 (eighteen years ago)

the mary ann hobbes is great. couldn't even follow it, it's like it eats itself.

tremendoid, Wednesday, 30 January 2008 08:07 (eighteen years ago)

still looking for what that last track is on the mary ann hobbes mix: trancey feel with a woman's voice "i want you to get together"

whatever, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

greatthisgooglething...

looks like it's Porn Sword Tobacco - Copyright The Universe (LP- New Exclusive Olympic Heights) (City Centre Offices)

http://www.newmixes.com/mary_anne_hobbs-live_on_radio_1-04-20-2007.html

damn i don't want to end

whatever, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:22 (eighteen years ago)

jeez i should go to bed and leave this thread alone. if i'd read the link better i'd have known. too late.

whatever, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

So has Enfants been released or not?

BleepBot, Saturday, 9 February 2008 01:49 (eighteen years ago)

how many tracks does he generally release in a year? it seems like a new 12" pops up on discogs or on a blog every few weeks

Malcolm Money, Saturday, 9 February 2008 03:48 (eighteen years ago)

"i want you to get together" is that (st germain) "rose rouge" remix I can't find.

blunt, Saturday, 9 February 2008 10:27 (eighteen years ago)

theres a track which uses the same samples as enfants floating around which people are mislabling as villalobos feat vander - enfants.

its not very good.

i take it you want a vinyl copy of that rose rough remix blunt? i can't find one! there are mp3s tho...

Crackle Box, Saturday, 9 February 2008 10:39 (eighteen years ago)

yeah vinyl. thanks but I just lost 100Gb of patiently accumulated mp3 files & am in no hurry to start over. w/appropriate backup this time

blunt, Saturday, 9 February 2008 10:50 (eighteen years ago)

(the best backup is dumping entire directories on music loving friends' drives, btw)

blunt, Saturday, 9 February 2008 10:55 (eighteen years ago)

willem, Saturday, 9 February 2008 11:01 (eighteen years ago)

blunt, Saturday, 9 February 2008 11:10 (eighteen years ago)

OTM!

Tim F, Saturday, 9 February 2008 22:34 (eighteen years ago)

anyone else going to see him in montreal? i am so excited that i am trying to temper it with a, "he's not gonna show, there's no way he's gonna show."
