top selling out-of-print albums?

As far as I can tell, very rarely are records deleted simply because they're being reissued. That would be the right thing to do, of course, but these labels will do anything to sell more copies. I remember going to Tower the day before all the remastered Van Halen discs were reissued and they were still well stocked with the flat old versions.

On the other hand, I have a buddy who refuses to restock Talking Heads CDs at his store, because he knows better versions are coming soon. Now that's class!

beatles live at the bbc has got to be up there too.

4 times platinum and out of print. (though since it's a double album that means only about 2 million, maybe less, were actually sold in the u.s. which is still a lot.)

It's back in print. Capitol has had it on "moratorium" at least once, but it's available now.
