toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

So, are Lightning Bolt going to play on the floor? In a snotty London venue? Alright!

udu wudu (udu wudu), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, I wish I had never seen this.

dean! (deangulberry), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:38 (twenty-two years ago)

HI GUYS! Do you know anything about Eye coming to NYC for something to do with John Zorn's birthday?

Also, Damo Suzuki is playing with Yammato in Japan :(

Jon Williams (ex machina), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Eye performed with Zorn in a duo show right around the time of the Zorn 50th birthday shows at Tonic last year. Zorn told me he recorded something for him as well for possible release on Tzadik.

dleone (dleone), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

ahhh wicked!

prima fassy (bob), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:54 (twenty-two years ago)

why do they hate us so?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still mad about that. I hate everyone who has the ability to go to that show.

dean! (deangulberry), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Yea, what have the Brits done recently to contribute awesome music to the world? NOTHING.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 23:12 (twenty-two years ago)

let's kick england's ass!!!

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 01:15 (twenty-two years ago)

JON: DON'T MAKE BLANKET STATEMENTS. IT IS BAD FORM.

Ian Johnson (orion), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 02:30 (twenty-two years ago)

NO, REALLY ENGLAND SUX

Jon Williams (ex machina), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

They don't deserve that show.

dean! (deangulberry), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 17:52 (twenty-two years ago)

MAYBE COLDPLAY CAN OPEN FOR THE BOREDOMS HAHAHA

Jon Williams (ex machina), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 18:31 (twenty-two years ago)

(recent-ish) British stuff that is good: Skullflower/Sunroof!, Vibracathedral Orchestra&offshoots.. probably more. Ned would know.

IAN J0HNSOPNNN, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I know a few things, and you've definitely named some of the best -- let us not forget the wonderful Wickham-Smith/Youngs axis.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Guapo might appeal to fans of Boredoms, and also happen to include ILM's udu wudu as a member (I think).

dleone (dleone), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

no shit?

(guapo's "great sage" is insane and brilliant. "five suns" is like the second coming of magma.)

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Thursday, 5 February 2004 01:43 (twenty-two years ago)

for the most recent tour:

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

unchanged since 2001

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i meant to point out the only releases since the '99 VCN box are those 4 remix albums.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Torturing yourself isn't going to help.

dleone (dleone), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:47 (twenty-two years ago)

sad, sad truth.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 6 February 2004 05:25 (twenty-two years ago)

finally saw 'ichi the killer' last night. I can see why maybe the Karera Musication soundtrack doesn't work on it's own, but in the context of the film, absolutely fantastic.

(wasn't my favorite miike film overall but still worth seeing).

(Jon L), Friday, 6 February 2004 05:36 (twenty-two years ago)

VCN is such a fantastic record, they can't just leave us hanging like this! Is it just down to a bad deal with the label or is there something else afoot?

Hayden Nicholls (Pop the Weasel), Friday, 6 February 2004 06:00 (twenty-two years ago)

scroll up. then crawl into a fetal position every night.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 6 February 2004 06:07 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
if you are a fan of eYe's color artwork/colaging, i HIGHLY recommend this book:

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

sp: collaging

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

oh btw gygax, have you heard the July 2002 Brighton show? Probably the best boot, as far as sound quality, I've heard. They play the same piece they did at ATP.

dleone (dleone), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

nope, i'm not a huge fan of "live recordings" but i can make an exception in this case. are you slsk?

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 19:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Anywhere to get that cheaper?

Sir Hiss! a.k.a. Jon Williams in brrrrrrrrrrrRochester! (ex machina), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 21:14 (twenty-two years ago)

come to my house and scan it?

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, on slsk as dleone

dleone (dleone), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

their booking agent makes the following claim:

"Even though some of the Boredoms left and new Boredoms arrived, that only helped them all to embrace the creative possibilities of change."

(sorry dleone)

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 1 March 2004 20:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Is the Minga and Eye ♥ 7" any good?

BICICLETA EMOCIONAL!!! (Jon Williams) (ex machina), Monday, 1 March 2004 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

you might still be able to buy my copy from CLAMAZON DOT COM

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 1 March 2004 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Blasphemy alert: after listening to that show a few times, I'm not so sure that they don't miss Seiichi Yamamoto.

dleone (dleone), Monday, 1 March 2004 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

deduced from watching him too many times to mention (and only seeing v00redoms once without him), he was "the soul" of the band.*

*proven by scientific listens to superroots 6-8, vcn ep, super ae and vcn lp.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 1 March 2004 22:07 (twenty-two years ago)

the new giant robot magazine has a 2 page interview with yoshimi that might be worth your whiles.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 4 March 2004 06:24 (twenty-two years ago)

circle coming to london or the stretchheads reforming would be exciting. the boredoms and lightning bolt playing london is just plain underwhelming

bob snoom, Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:22 (twenty-two years ago)

but of course i'll be there - i'm just lashing out due to extraneous "issues" in my life right now

bob snoom, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 13:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Is the Minga and Eye ¢¾ 7" any good?
-- BICICLETA EMOCIONAL!!! (Jon Williams) (william...), March 1st, 2004.

i like it a lot, it's not new tho (from 94-5 i think?)
the minga side really is just a baby making sounds, lovely sounds, with voice and a synth. the eye side also features shinro ohtake.

my name is limitless, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 18:24 (twenty-two years ago)

That Sonic Youth thing with Eye (TV Shit) sucks right?

LITTLE LAMB [Jon Williams] (ex machina), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

SexyDancer, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 22:12 (twenty-two years ago)

it's pretty novelty.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 23:21 (twenty-two years ago)
