My band and I went through weeks of coming up with band names (well, I came up with the majority, they didn't care that much). Here are some of them -

Claptrap
Slake
Royalty Check
Hannu Hates Freedom
The Good Old Days (G.O.D.'S)
All Over The Map
Respect Your Elders
Dig Up The Past
The Influence
Shepards of the Nation
Escapist
Stringer
Divisible By Four
Shake Lake
Reckless Abandon
Few and Far Between
Drain the Pain (gag name)
Caffiend
Pleasent Dreams
Band or Banter ?
Drudgery
Banned Practice
Straight and Narrow
To No Avail
Telescoping
False Alarm

Shockingly enough, there were more. But we decided on none of them. Personally, I liked "Claptrap".

Erock LAzron, Friday, 30 September 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

I like how names always obliquely imply genres. To No Avail = emo, Band Or Banter? = insufferable mathy indie, Respect Your Elders = D.C.-style punk, etc.

Dudes in a Band

I had a running joke with my gf about how much we don't like it when a CD cover or a band poster has a photo of the band all standing around somewhere, because the only message it sends is "Hey, we're a bunch of dudes in a band."
