Pastels sound was a little muddy at first, but they played Nothing To Be Done so I was happy. JAMC did look a bit miserable, but well that's to be expected! No storming offstage like last time I saw them.

that'd be 1992, the almost gold lp, so yes. although anytime before then would also be fine, obv. after that it's touch and go. actually, '92 is a bit late for the pastels, is their jad fair period, when stephen seemed to stop singing. did see them a couple of times then and a couple more after (both supporting b&s, new york and camber sands) and kinda enjoyed them both times. but, yes, again, earlier would be better better.

I'm now being told it was the girl from the Duke Spirit, which makes more sense of what I saw and heard onstage.

They're playing Brixton Academy on September 7th.

LOL oh well I'd rather have seen them at Brixton Academy than at silly seated festival hall, although it was good. Maybe I can take Mrs Poo to this and see them again. She wasn't in the mood to go out on Friday.

I thought about buying seated upstairs tickets. But then I snapped out of it!

The best thing is, this is like 10 minutes from my house! Hurrah!

We went to see the Ramones, at Brixton Academy, back in.

Upstairs seated was all that was left. Better than nothing, obv, for that one. Their last UK gig ever.

But no. Apart from bands who are going to split up and/or die, never do that.

I had seated tickets for the Stooges, that was weird. But they were complimentary so I can't complain. Seated behind Kevin Sheilds, even weirder.

think the last twice i've seen them were both brixton academy gigs - rollercoaster tour and acoustic(!) support for cocteau twins.

"All Things Must Pass" is classic JAMC. This is one of those bands who'll crank out passable-to-good-to-great shit as long as they feel like it.

who else is going to see them at Brixton Academy this Friday? do shows there usually end before the closing of the tube?

they probably will, yes (kicking out time = 11ish, tube = 12 ish)

am still in two minds. ticket prices high. nobody to go with.
