(that hopkins one is a bit crap, though im sure it sounds good)

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Saturday, 12 December 2009 10:15 (sixteen years ago)

the old fans who lost her w/Pt. 1 will like this a lot, I think

Not gonna lie. This tempered my enthusiasm just a teeny tiny bit since I think Pt. 1 is her best album yet. But since Mama's Gun is right up there as runner-up, I guess this sounds awesome.

really senile old crap shit (Eric H.), Saturday, 12 December 2009 14:36 (sixteen years ago)

well I think this was always planned as the most accessible album in the series (like, "Honey" was supposed to be on this album, which is why it was only a bonus track when it was bumped to the first album)

some dude, Saturday, 12 December 2009 15:15 (sixteen years ago)

an album of "honey"s would be the best thing ever probably

k3vin k., Saturday, 12 December 2009 15:44 (sixteen years ago)

crazy about the wayne track maybe being dropped because of the leak. THANKS INTERNET.

high-five machine (schlump), Saturday, 12 December 2009 15:45 (sixteen years ago)

so what's this about a "track from the album featuring lil wayne"? the writer doesnt mention wayne at all

k3vin k., Saturday, 12 December 2009 15:54 (sixteen years ago)

The audio clip didn't sound promising, but I suppose it could just be the shitty cell phone quality.

i think you mean thanks wayne's lax studio security that lets everything he makes get leaked

some dude, Saturday, 12 December 2009 15:59 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i'd like wayne as far away from this as possible tbh, i can't even think of a rapper i'd like on a badu record in 2009

k3vin k., Saturday, 12 December 2009 16:04 (sixteen years ago)

it seems like kind of a perfunctory collab like all wayne collabs are these days, but a year or two back he was mentioning Badu as an influence in a lot of interviews, namedropping her in "A Milli," etc., so I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt.

some dude, Saturday, 12 December 2009 16:08 (sixteen years ago)

apparently jump in the air features ten mcs. i don't know what this means.

high-five machine (schlump), Saturday, 12 December 2009 16:54 (sixteen years ago)

probably just that, like many R&B albums these days, there will be a remix version of the lead single with a bunch of rappers on it

some dude, Saturday, 12 December 2009 19:37 (sixteen years ago)

It's not slated for the album.

if I don't see more dissent, I'm going to have to check myself in (Matos W.K.), Saturday, 12 December 2009 19:45 (sixteen years ago)

ghostface would be fine on an erykah album

that is a whole discussion within itself that is worth debating (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 12 December 2009 20:38 (sixteen years ago)

Others have expressed their pumpitude for this album. I would like to say that I too am pumped, and that New Amerykah Part One somehow turned out to be my favorite 2008 record. Time is magic, etc.

Brad Nelson (BradNelson), Saturday, 12 December 2009 20:46 (sixteen years ago)

i like to imagine that the reason this took so long to come out is because badu had to keep sending wayne's verses back to be tweaked, each time saying "this is good, but less feces references, please"

k3vin k., Saturday, 12 December 2009 20:49 (sixteen years ago)

or, you know, cause she took some time off to have a babby

LA CANCION MAS PRETENCIOSA DEL MUNDO... (The Reverend), Saturday, 12 December 2009 20:50 (sixteen years ago)

^no imagination

k3vin k., Saturday, 12 December 2009 20:52 (sixteen years ago)

"If anything leaks, I won't put out this album," she said about potential future leaks. "I worked too hard for that to happen. Let a bitch make some money some kind of way."

^^^^ this is awesome but also terrifying

taoiseachizown (samosa gibreel), Saturday, 12 December 2009 20:52 (sixteen years ago)

mostly terrifying imo

Seriously? So we should expect this in December or something, I suppose.

Glad there's a wide range of producers here, a lot of whom obviously play to her strengths. Surprised there's nothing from Jay Electronica, though.

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Saturday, 23 January 2010 03:13 (sixteen years ago)

he was prob too busy looking after the baby.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Saturday, 23 January 2010 10:34 (sixteen years ago)

Thought it was supposed to be 10 MC's on "Jump In The Air"?

Number None, Saturday, 23 January 2010 14:25 (sixteen years ago)

Apparently following the listening session leak of the Wayne version, the original plan of 10 separate releases of Jump in the Air was scrapped in favour of one Wayne web only version. Shame.

Alex in Montreal, Saturday, 23 January 2010 17:45 (sixteen years ago)

wait so wayne is not going to be on the album? awesome!

k3vin k., Sunday, 24 January 2010 02:36 (sixteen years ago)

haha otm

when I met you last night, baby, before you opened up your GAPDY (The Reverend), Sunday, 24 January 2010 02:50 (sixteen years ago)

It was never earmarked for the album. She said at the listening party that it was planned as a leak--ten diff't versions w/ten MCs. So the web-only-bonus thing is basically in keeping w/that.

if I don't see more dissent, I'm going to have to check myself in (Matos W.K.), Sunday, 24 January 2010 05:53 (sixteen years ago)

(And it would throw off the album totally if it were on it, officially. "Honey" works as a coda to Pt. 1 but this wouldn't for Pt. 2.)

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Friday, 29 January 2010 16:53 (sixteen years ago)

Wiki now has track twelve listed as part three of "Out My Mind (Just in Time)", any truth to this?

you gone float up with it (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 29 January 2010 16:54 (sixteen years ago)

not necessarily any, it's interpreting a december Vibe piece which reads:

"Out My Mind Just in Time (Part 1) (Undercover Over-Lover)/Out My Mind Just in Time (Part 2)"
Badu calls this her second three-song suite ("You'll have to wait to hear [Part 3] when the album comes out," she says)

zvookster, Friday, 29 January 2010 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

i know y'all will, but somebody please post when this goes up on site.
