Seems like ILX moderators are getting pretty loose with the banning. Didn't it used to be rare?
― Mark, Saturday, 14 November 2009 19:18 (sixteen years ago)
it's only temporary and he did get 51 sb's. glad he's not permanently banned but imo it's been pretty nice the past few weeks.
― samosa gibreel, Saturday, 14 November 2009 19:21 (sixteen years ago)
Well I didn't really meant the amount of suggest bans for that particular thread but over the course of time. In any case I was joking.
I remember I used to suggest ban him quite often when I first arrived because he would write the most outrageous statements about... well, everything and I thought he was some sort of troll, or 'sock' or whatever you call them just trying to provoke me. Then I learnt that he's been around for years and he's just born wrong that way so I carried along.
― feisty, Spanish, girl (Moka), Saturday, 14 November 2009 19:36 (sixteen years ago)
Is there a way to see how many suggest bans I have? Just curious.

Oh I didn't know that :P then I should rejoice and laugh at Jordan's face everytime he suggests he's SB me.

technically mods haven't chosen to ban many people lately, they just implemented a system that allowed people to vote for others to be banned, and that option has become pretty widely used

The comments section has devolved at an even more alarming rate than I thought it might:
"Morals over Music, Why do you keep saying Michael Jackson was a p3dophile? Like you KNOW this for a FACT, which you Don't. Just that you are among the brainwashed sheep that jump on the media bandwagon train. Why then, did the 1993 accusers father just commit suicide??? Maybe he couldn't live with all the LIES he told for greed and money and fame. Anything for a Buck. Michael is, was and will always be one of the Greatest Entertainers who ever Lived. He will always be the King of Pop no matter how many of you try to take him down. Michael was NOT a child abuser. Michael Jackson was the one who was abused by people with the greed for money. His money that he worked hard for."
"How nice of you to condescend and take time out of your busy life to interview Kris Allen. Adam may be the poster boy for Bedazzler and a media darling, but there are legions of fans of the more organic music and pure talent of Kris Allen. They are both talented and I feel will both do well in their own genres. I knew Adam Lambert before he became a TV star. I like him. I don't like the majority of his music. It's just not my thing. I didn't know Kris Allen. I like him. His music is what I like and bought. I look forward to the day when it gets back to being all about the music and not some bizarre pissing contest with media types who lost a bet. For the record, I'm very 'blue state' and Kris Allen gets my $$$ vote"
"HA! Love it -- "Lady Gaga might want to leave the disco stick at home for this one." I don't know though. Everyone can use a good disco stick. Even the queen."
(Slight google-proofing there...and I'm not clicking through any of these, this is just what's displayed on the front page.)
Am I wrong in remembering that comments had long been locked to people who already had comment accounts? Did this change before the switch over or could these new commenters have gotten anonoaccounts before the 2.0 switch?

― mooncup journey to vaja (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 30 November 2009 15:47 (sixteen years ago)
I actually bought that Swizz Beatz album, and thought the whole "feat. Metallica" thing was some kind of a joke, since you couldn't really imagine any sort of common ground between Swizz and Metallica. I think "We Did Again" proves there wasn't: I can't hear any Swizz Beatz on it at all. Otherwise it's a pretty nice album (at least when Swizz doesn't rap, which he thankfully doesn't do too much), definitely overlooked.
― Tuomas, Monday, 30 November 2009 15:47 (sixteen years ago)
i think swizz and metallica could have probably done something nice if it wasn't such a rush hack-job. pretty much 100% of Metallica's non metal collabos have been shit

Haha, I was just about to say that compared to that, the DJ Spooky/Metallica collaboration on the Spawn soundtrack was a piece of art.

this is one of those "ok i can actually defend this song but at the same time I realize why a rational adult would consider it a heaving bag of suck" entries. my mayer pick would be the political inaction anthem "waiting for the world to change," though. or maybe the ballad that climaxes with "oooh and you can tell the difference between miles and coltrane!" or something.
― da croupier, Tuesday, 1 December 2009 15:07 (sixteen years ago)
