i really want these people to stand up and explain themselves! i wonder what they think their selling point is.

Buzznet is clearly just shifting their target to tweens and/or people who self-loathe.

Hahaha. Thanks Jordan.

I think I’m liking this one best because it just sounds different. It’s got its own personality, whereas almost every other song on this album sounds like another version of itself.
btw thank you for this illuminating portrait of what this song sounds like, I can clearly imagine it in my mind based off of these two simple sentences
oh wait, no I can't because YOU HAVEN'T SAID A FUCKING THING ABOUT THE SONG
― a Barbie-like nub where he provates should be (HI DERE), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 20:34 (sixteen years ago)
look what he's saying is every other song sounds like itself, and this song doesn't sound like itself. it sounds like a different song.

Yeah, what don't you get Dan?
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 20:37 (sixteen years ago)
So what you're saying, Omar, is that there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 20:37 (sixteen years ago)
~precisely~

I kinda like their bold anti-piano platform?
It's like Denby's bold stance against film. Only, y'know, against music?

i really want these people to stand up and explain themselves!
Yeah, I think I would loathe these people a little bit less if they had at least explained a little bit about themselves and where there were coming from. But to just start posting these inane blurbs about Gaga and Rihanna is like a drunk crashing a child's birthday party and then barfing on the cake.

a drunk crashing a child's birthday party and then barfing on the cake
Simile of the year!
ftr this shit is EXACTLY what I am talking about whenever I go on a "modern music writing is a gigantic bag of shit that never actually talks about the music" tear; I'm not looking for analysis of chord progressions as much as I'm asking for the writer to tell me about, oh I don't know, what instruments were used and what they sound like, and whether those sounds go together or not

This is the second time I've glanced at my wall calendar to make sure it is indeed the 10th of November and not the 1st of April.

ok this has disturbed me a bit, a few entries ago from robbie's other awful blog:
The first time I ever climbed down the dark stairwell to the underground (literally!) club was in December 1994—nearly 15 years ago—when I was home on Christmas Break during my first year away at university.
