" "Hyper-ballad" is my favourite at the moment. Odd that I used to think her lyrics were moronic. Their haiku-like genius eluded me until this."-- sundar subramanian

i didn't expect everyone to agree of course - but when they disagree i get irked and take it as a criticism that i don't know what i'm talking about, heh - carry on

RADIOHEAD - "Paranoid Android" (620 points, 31 votes, 3 first place votes)

I don't like this one as much as some of their others, personally, but this is a fine tune. Search engine's slow here, any other comments?

Tyree
It’s drastic. It’s all weird and spooky. It’s horrible. I don’t know how anyone could listen to it. That’s the first time I’ve heard anything by her.Bin It!
Katrina
It’s crap. There is no tune and she doesn’t have a good voice enough for it. She can’t sing at all. I’ve never even heard of her.Bin It!
Lisa
It’s too weird. I don’t like her voice. The beat is alright, it’s just Bjork herself and her music. Bin It!
Ciara
Bjork scares me. She’s really, really weird. So is her music. It’s a bit too slow.Bin It!

Anyway, "Loser" is most absolutely Beck's finest moment, and if one non-"Web in Front" song had to represent the golden age of american indie rock, "Loser" is probably the best to do it. The genius of that song hasn't aged a second in the last decade. I think I had it at #10 on my list.
haha, "Paranoid Android" at #9. Wow.

I mean I'm not taking the list THAT seriously, its not about to make or break my day or something, but if i'm going to waste my time posting on a message board i'm going to damn well do what I enjoy doing (in this case, complaining).
And I DO appreciate the list bcuz it gives me something to talk about! And again, thanks to Gear! for compiling all this shit.

Windowlicker excites, amuses and maybe even infuriates ('accident vs intention, how do we know?') - all hallmarks of a modern classic. little did we know a couple of years later all pop would sound like this.

WARREN G - "Regulate" (643 points, 33 votes, 3 first place votes)
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000024I7.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
"i love this song. yes, it is quite possibly the best song ever. there are several reasons why: 1)it's mega mega mega funky 2)it's completely un-self-conscious and ernest - that's why some of you might find it embarrassing or cheesy, but i find it really endearing 3)nate dogg: so cool, warren g: such a nerd...yet they come together and create exhilirating g-funk, funked out with a gangster twist."
