i think whiney was making an under-considered criticism in the dynamite hack post & i think lists of bad songs are funny.

whiney's cynicism & self-loathing makes him a tedious message boarder at times but it makes him a hilarious writer when he's trying to eviscerate something which is why this list has been really awesome so far imo

that's ridiculous, his poor fashion sense and goblin-like features are the source of his hilarity

Perhaps, but if you were subjected to rock radio for upwards of 8 hours a day any time between 2000 and 2003, you heard this song enough times to make you wish for deafness. Its ubiquity alone qualifies it for the list over any other 3DD song.

if you want to claim a song's ubiquity is exceptional, don't use the set up "if you were subjected to rock radio for upwards of 8 hours a day anytime between 2000 and 2003." Because, in that context, later years offer similarly ubiquitous - and worse - gold & platinum singles by three doors down.
