to me, northern soul is a very white, anglo take on american soul. southern soul and funk is the backbone of hip hop. but i'm guessing this is prolly still narcissism of small differences, and coming from a white sf hipster, i shouldn't be saying much.

o nice. i went there once when it was Pink and it was pretty corny, but they're trying to appeal to a different crowd apparently. i've been to a few of those 'i can't feel my face' parties at amnesia (saw thomas once) and they're pretty fun

plus SOM is freaking GORGEOUS. big, wide open dancefloor, superb lighting, decent sound. A great improvement from Pink.
