"Forever" = full on pop house. And I approve. The video seems appropriate too:

and what, Monday, 5 May 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

I like this kid a lot when he does upbeat pop; his ballads tend to be kind of unlistenable.

forksclovetofu, Monday, 5 May 2008 18:27 (eighteen years ago)

was just listening to "with you" and admiring his restraint as a singer. he's totally confident with his voice, and really knows how to lay back. ("with you" pretty much rips off its acoustic-guitar groove from "irreplaceable," but i don't mind.)

tipsy mothra, Friday, 16 May 2008 06:43 (eighteen years ago)

his voice is the shit

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 May 2008 06:44 (eighteen years ago)

imo i think he's an awful technical singer but i love the way his voice warbles and how reedy it is

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 May 2008 06:45 (eighteen years ago)

well his restraint might be a factor of lack of technique, i don't know. but i prefer undersinging to oversinging.

tipsy mothra, Friday, 16 May 2008 06:54 (eighteen years ago)

(there are parts of that song where he loses the melody, but i'm not sure if that's his fault or the song's.)

tipsy mothra, Friday, 16 May 2008 07:03 (eighteen years ago)

what i mean is, if you listen to a song like "no air", he's completely blown out of the water by jordin sparks in terms of straight singing, but i think brown makes the song. he knows how to fuck around with his voice (like a natural over-autotune or something) and he really knows his place in terms of restraint (which you brought up, otm to you). way more skilled than a lot of ppl give him credit for i think

J0rdan S., Friday, 16 May 2008 07:08 (eighteen years ago)

Chris Brown seems to me to be exactly what a Pop Star right now should be, and in that sense he's the most Warholian of Pop Stars since Britney.

jordan s (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 3 December 2008 03:04 (seventeen years ago)

Warholian? I mean I guess there's something 'pop art' about the way he does all these award show performances where impersonates Michael Jackson, then impersonates Timberlake impersonating MJ, and then goes back to straight MJ, but just...no. No.

Jay-Z Vowes Revenge "Hes A Walking Dead Man"

Jay-Z "hit the roof" when he heard about the alleged assault on Rihanna, according to an insider. A source close to Jigga says that Jay-Z has vowed to get revenge on Chris Brown if the story ends up being true. “He hit the roof. Chris is a walking dead man. He messed with the wrong crew,” the source told US Weekly.

At the end of the LA Times story about this, regarding an earlier unprovoked assault:

“Clearly, thus far, such extreme consequences, such as the loss of his career, court-mandated rehabilitation, and even jail time, have not deterred Brown’s conduct,” the complaint states. “Perhaps, this time, the imposition of punitive damages for his despicable and unforgivable conduct will.”

What fucking loss of his career?

I mean, in recent years it's been Chris Brown being inserted into songs to rescue the careers of underperforming artists (Tinashe, Sevyn, K. Michelle), this will do absolutely nothing to stall his career and it's disgusting, the idea that a man who seems to hate women so badly is still the solution to the problems faced by women in the industry

After his release, Brown took to social media to deny any wrongdoing.

"I want to make it perfectly clear, this is false," he wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture that said: "This bitch lyin'."

He added in all-capitals: "I wanna make it perfectly clear...this is false," before going on to say it was "against my character and morals".
