I like Deepmix.ru for deep tech house. I listen to Viva Radio more than any other streaming station.

I like Radio Swiss Jazz a lot - mostly pretty traditional jazz stuff, standards and the like, interpreted by artists old and new. Would be interested in finding other good online jazz stations.

Been enjoying Vtuner and Tunein apps, the latter has lots of podcasts for cool stuff like This American Life and Radiolab.

Sleepbot is good for ambient music.

I'm bumping this thread because I think a place like ILX needs a better reference on good internet radio. There's a huge glut of streaming stations, and it's been that way since the late 90s. Most of them are terrible --- some mediocre 2 hour playlist that's been on rotation for 8 years --- and it's hard to know which ones are any good without sitting through them for a while. Most music managers have plugins to browse Shoutcast and Icecast directories, but both are a mess of crap stations.

Sleepbot is special, I think. Viva Radio is special. Some SomaFM stations are OK. These are all unmanned stations, though, that are pre-programmed, and some people would say that isn't real radio.

I'd like to see people's lists for best conventional AM, FM and shortwave stations that stream online, best web-only manned (live disc jockey) stations, and programmed stations. I don't even care if they're strictly music stations --- it would just be good to compile a solid resource.

Oh, also: SomaFM's SF 10-33 is pretty fantastic. It's ambient music mixed with a live S.F. police scanner.

I'm selecting music for Belgian FM-radio Scorpio which streams online (pre-programmed before 6PM): www.radioscorpio.be/luister
Very ILM-influenced tbh. Let's paste the playlist for the upcoming hour of so

Mystikal - Hit Me
DJ Mujava - Township Funk
Factory Floor - Fall Back
Echo Beatty - Montana
Goat - Goathead
Scott Walker - Epizootics!
Stooges, The - Loose
Andy Stott - Leaving
Owen Pallett - Scandal At The Parkade
White Mice - Step By Step
Daniel Avery - Taste
Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face

What stations are people listening to these days?

Pitchfork hipped me to a few with this new article https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/independent-online-radio-is-the-algorithm-alternative-you-need/

Starting to use internet radio at work since I can never seem to settle on what to play for semi-background music.
