I wonder if context plays a large part in making hotel things seem as luxurious as they do. I feel like you could get a comparable robe from Target or Kohl's that's just as soft but might not *seem* as luxurious existing in a dept store.

surm while I'm here can you recommend a good place to buy nice but inexpensive ($60 or less) bedsheets?

nicki mINOJ (Stevie D(eux)), Thursday, 3 January 2013 17:40 (eleven years ago) link

i'm telling you

surm, Thursday, 3 January 2013 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

that's what i thought

but i went to target -- all POLYSTER, flimsy and clingy

i rly couldn't believe it

surm, Thursday, 3 January 2013 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

bedsheets i got a great set from your run of the mill marshall's

surm, Thursday, 3 January 2013 17:43 (eleven years ago) link

I need to check out Marshall's; people keep telling me they get great deals there. It's so hard to find solid black sheets, though!

Marshall's is awesome except for the time hackers got into their database and made off with 250K credit card numbers

GIMME SOME REGGAE (DJP), Thursday, 3 January 2013 18:12 (eleven years ago) link

Marshall's and TJ Maxx, but yes, black sheets are not a common thing. Also try overstock.com though tbh, and maybe smartbargains.com, which is where I got all my down pillows & stuff years ago.
