I had this insane and really frightening dream a couple weeks ago where, during a blizzard, a snowy owl was hovering outside my window just floating in the same spot and staring at me with red eyes. I kept trying to run away and hide from it but it wouldn't leave. So creepy ans strange esp because I like them normally.

an owl flew into my dad's windshield once driving home. when he walked over to it where it had fallen. it got up and started walking around and clucking. i think it was stunned because it started following him back to the car. he decided not to bring it home.

I got to poke an owl in the head last week. Owl heads are teeny tiny, it's just that they have loads of feathers. But if you poke through the feathers at the back of an owl's neck, there's quite a long way to go, relatively speaking, before you get to actual owl skull.

Owls are great and I felt a bit icky poking about the back of his neck. But it was positively encouraged and the owl didn't seem to mind.

one month passes...

There's a Barred Owl sitting on a dead fir branch in my backyard. It's been there all afternoon, even when I was puttering back there within 25 feet of it. Other birds have been coming by and yelling at it, especially this one Steller's Jay, but it seems imperturbable.

Tonight at dusk there will be a massive fireworks show about a mile from our house. Each year it sounds like a battery of howitzers going off for more than 20 minutes. I don't expect it will stick around much for the show. I hope it likes its nice dead branch and comes back some more, through the summer. It's a better mouser than a cat!
