My mother thought that ringworm was an actual WORM, and not a fungus or whatever it actually is. So when she got on her breastbone from hugging some kid in her elementary class who had it on his or her head, she was practically ready to vomit and/or scratch her skin off in panic and grossness until I thought to look it up. Poor Momz.
