Watched the latest Die Hard yesterday. Not only is it a joyless trainwreck, but it's the teal & orangest thing I've seen in recent memory.

Just watched I Heart Huckabees and it was really distractingly saddled with a dull form of this, maybe "gray and orange" - everybody looks like they're wearing weird tanning compounds but everything else is kinda washed out and blah looking. Not a nice movie to look at regardless, but that didn't help.

i saw a tv trailer for the 3rd hobbit movie last week and it was the most flagrant display of teal & orange i've seen in a while

xp saw this trailer again and yep there's literally no color in it other than teal and orange

boxtrolls does look like that but it's still really good.

the boxtrolls guys do an amazing job of releasing spectacular films with trailers and ads that make the film look terrible

^^^ totally. It was miles better than the ad led me to believe.

boxtrolls had an unmemorable and kind of rote narrative but it was beautiful to behold. but yeah very teal/orange.

the worst is when they take older films and render them teal/orange for blu-ray. ridley scott did this with the alien blu-ray, it's most unfortunate. actually the criterion blu-ray of thief is quite guilty of this as well.

Aliens was the one that got T&O'ed up.

Listening to Andrea Romano's interview on the Nerdist podcast today got me thinking about Clancy Brown(who plays Lex Luthor in the DCAU), and how much warmth and character both he & Sam Rockwell bring to Cowboys & Aliens, which would otherwise be a forgotten two-tone blandity.
