Here's what can happen:

i) The ILE vs Sinister football rematch

ii) Trig Brother II

iii) Neither

iv) Both

Tom, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Heavy objections have been raised to "iv) both" so I'm thinking not. Pete can only make this weekend and wants to to TB II. I also want to do TB II, unsurprisingly. The Sinister people however are in town for a picnic anyway so the football is also a real option.

I suppose the thing to do is ask - who of the people who wanted to take part in either thing can make Saturday anyway, and which would you prefer to do?

Tom, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I can make both. But if I had to choose, I'd pick trig bro II.

jel --, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

ii) should happen.

tell me where and at what time and how to get there and I'll try to make it (don't know if I'll take part though).

Julio Desouza, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I still want the rematch of course!

Tom, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm up for this Saturday. I still don't know what Trig Brother is.

Martin Skidmore, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I've never busy.

Saturday = Trig brother, Sunday = Football?

Graham, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'll be off to see the second evah game of AFC Wimbledon against East Dulwich at Champion Hill. Thoroughly recommend it to all and sundry; it'll help a good cause and be a bloody good laugh. Watch as songs get created from scratch by terrace wits. New player Mehmet Mehmet gets my vote as top muse.

Dave, Monday, 8 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Trig Brother gets my vote.

RickyT, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Depending on IF I get paid and how well I am up for Trig Brother - the fussball would be a larff but TB is better and I'm not up for both on the same day UGH sweaty mengs.

Rematch should bear in mind THE WEATHER as today is blooming 'orrid!

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

i am free for TB this weekend though whether willing and able (and well) remains to be seen

mark s, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Tom, can you get into your e-mail now? I have things to send you.

DV, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

You mean you're not all going to see Boredoms??

Andrew L, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I don't know what will happen if the other side find out you're considering neshing out of the football. BTW, does the ball ever roll down the hill? Do you all rolly-polly down it afterwards?

PJ Miller, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

my vote = ii

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'd rather Trig Brother II but I can now do a fortnight time if that is more convenient. And August is my oyster, I shall not want.

Pete, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

The thing about the football is...we don't have that many players, I think we had seven?

jel --, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

As senor miller pointed out, the "other side" are mad for the football, a certain kaiser particularly...

then again if the weather stays like this, i say NICE WARM PUB.

CarsmileSteve, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm definitely not up for football this Saturday, for a range of reasons, and I'm busy on Saturday afternoon / early evening too, so it sounds like I might turn up for the climax of TB if that happens (ah if there were only a tiara to hand over...). Sorry.

Tim, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm quite happy to be a spectator for either.

Is (i) likely to be in/on/up Primrose Hill? Is (ii) likely to be a reprise of the Blue Posts crawl of last year?

I'm willing to fork out for a travelcard, mooch around in the background and retain my right to exit sharply to meet GLW on Oxford Street.

Michael Jones, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Well, one or the other, either way I don't mind! Mmm, watching football with a lovely pint glass of RHUM...

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

My return to Shelbourne FC from ILE Rovers due to personal problems means I will miss any football. "Father father, I really wanted to play father, I really wanted to win for Brazil!"

(Ronaldo 1998 according to the Sun)

Ronan, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm thinking the Footie will have to be postponed. We have lost Tim and Ronan from our team. Sorry, Sinister. (though, you know, I don't like to speak for everyone, Dr C? Chris? Anyone?)

jel --, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

dr c is in estonia

mark s, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

are you a Shels fan, Ronan?

my brother in law plays for them.

DV, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ah I used to go when I was a bit younger, but I'm a bit lazy these days. The matches aren't the best, I'd be vaguely tempted to start going again next year when they play in the summer starting in May or June or whatever.

Ronan, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Dr. C is back from Estonia - in a manner of speaking. Footie prolly not on for me this w/kend as I have sustained several tour injuries. Nothing too bad - two, possibly three squashed fingers, a turned ankle and sore ribs, but can't honestly say I would be fit in time. I'd be up for it at a later date tho'.

Worse is the prospect of Starry's half-time RHUM pick me up - I drunk so much over the weekend that I cannot possibly contemplate even smelling alcohol ever again. I arrived back late yesterday and endured a night of terrifying DTs and paranoia (examples - raindrops turned into gunfire, various other 'night noises' like dripping taps and creaking boards were amplified and frightening, at one point I was convinced that a giant cat was hiding in the bathroom waiting to ambush me when I went for a piss, was convinced that I was dead....etc etc). This is the first time anything like this has happened. I swear I never touched anything stronger than beer except for one 'penalty' drink from the dustiest spirit bottle in the bar. So trig bruv is out for me too, anyway.

Dr. C, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

So basically the ILE team is crocked and/or unavailable anyway? Well, TB 2 it is then.

Tom, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Yay for beer! And voting! And a complete absence of minestrone!

RickyT, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

someone make a logo NOW! (if i did it, it would have a kitten worked into it, so someone else quick)

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Like kittens are a bad thing!

Nicole, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Nay for beer. No nay never no-more.

Dr. C, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

There is going to be a GREBT PRIZE this year too!

Dr C will you not even spectate? Heh heh.

Tom, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

What was the prize last year?

Tom do you want a soft copy of last year's rules?

Tim, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Tim, I believe the prize was a date with the ILEer of your choice. Have you not claimed yet?

Emma, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

yeah, like, I have no idea what trig bro is about! You answer questions and then you get evicted if people think your answer is lame? I'll be first out.

Please tell sinister we're not playing ball.

jel --, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Wasn't it a date with Mike Hanle y?

RickyT, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm fucked for money but can get some together for TBii, am also up for footy but not if we can't scrape a team together, obviously. Plus that would mean that I wouldn't have to cart my footy gear all over London on Friday night.

chris, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

**Dr C will you not even spectate? Heh heh**

Thank you for the kind offer but.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Actually if I feel better and I'm sort of around in town I may look in on the festivities.

(Somebody just pointed out that I have a black eye too)

Dr. C, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

tom- so it seems a decision has been made.

I'll ask again: where? at what time? and how to get there?

Sorry, i assume this is taking place in London yes.

Julio Desouza, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Watch for a thread announcing time and place. (Central London, Saturday afternoon, is what you need to know). Tim yeah can you send me the rules?

Tom, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Dr. C seems to be turning into that Jason Bourne character -- next he'll start remembering his assassin training...

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I do not mind too much missing Trig Bro (to be honest it scares me slightly), but reiterate that I will be in town on the 27th, so if anyone wants football for then, I'll be up for it.

For Sinister, of course.
