To root for Lannisters to win really was a hard pill to swallow.

homosexual II, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:03 (eleven years ago) link

i was rooting for the leetle fellow

spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:04 (eleven years ago) link

I couldn't root for anyone. One of the things I really like about this show.

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:05 (eleven years ago) link

plus stannis is a gross evangelical fundie

spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:06 (eleven years ago) link

I could never quite grasp how much he was a fundie and how much he was going along with it for the benefits. Which is a pretty great representation of how Christianity spread through Europe.

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:08 (eleven years ago) link

he's a total Clovis tbh

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:09 (eleven years ago) link

well I was rooting for Tyrion, too. And I like Tywin Lannister, too.

homosexual II, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:14 (eleven years ago) link

Tywin's alright by me, with of course about a jillion caveats.

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 03:10 (eleven years ago) link

a damn silly name, for one

spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:23 (eleven years ago) link

I feel for Stannis on this one. Dude led the charge. Plus, I think we can all agree that there only is one god and he will return to us once we murder a punch of people and put our guy on the throne.

Fellini.Kuti, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:31 (eleven years ago) link

I loved that Stannis was the first up the ladder, while Joffrey was asking "What did my mother say? Did she say it was URGENT?" while a fucking army comes battering at your gate. Gone from hating Joffrey to just thinking he brings the lolz now.

Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:37 (eleven years ago) link

i was really disappointed that he did not die last night. i haven't read the books, but I have to believe that boy's days are numbered, but now his fucking grandpa's there, so no idea where it'll go next.

Fellini.Kuti, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:41 (eleven years ago) link

it was weird... i *enjoyed* Joffrey in that last ep!

The lameness of his 'I'll give him a RED smile' joke deffo brought the lolz

Mercer Finn, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 07:24 (eleven years ago) link

There's some, like, dissonance between Joffrey's nerdy-kid vibe and every other actor on the show. His thing seems anachronistic, like a Magic card player who's been displaced. Not that I mind, really.

poxen, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 12:25 (eleven years ago) link

he's the king iirc

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 13:30 (eleven years ago) link

Hahaha oh god I just accidentally stumbled on some Stannis/Selyse porn fic. (Selyse is his wife.)

Why would anyone ever write that? That seems like the most unappealing idea ever.

I love Tywin in the show, I was really happy when he finally appeared in this episode. In the books, he's just a cruel dick.

Respectfully, Tyrese Gibson (Nicole), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 13:41 (eleven years ago) link

ya isnt his wife just as shrewish and sexless as he is?

i guess for some people that's a THING

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:04 (eleven years ago) link

cosign about tywin, i think he's a great baddie in the books too, but in the show he's really come to life. his last moment at the end of this ep was pretty ballin

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:05 (eleven years ago) link

charles dance is really killing it

Dance typically plays assertive bureaucrats or villains.[citation needed]

fuck that was a nice explosion

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:19 (eleven years ago) link

I'm a few eps behind but the Tywin/Arya interaction is just fantastic

that is a weird thing to bring up over lean cuisine (DJP), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:20 (eleven years ago) link

for tywin

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:23 (eleven years ago) link

what happened with the hound though? he went from wanting to rape people with their swords to pacifist pretty quick

sonderangerbot, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:30 (eleven years ago) link

he is scared of fire

Number None, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:31 (eleven years ago) link

Was it my imagination or was Tyrion shot by a gold cloak?

poxen, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:39 (eleven years ago) link

Kingsguard

Number None, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 14:42 (eleven years ago) link

that "why does the hound, who only has half a face due to some tragic fire incident, do a 360 when surrounded by fire?" is even a question for people makes me understand why most mainstream tv shows have flashbacks and scenes of over-exposition

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:01 (eleven years ago) link

not to sound snarky; that's just what tv has wrought

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:02 (eleven years ago) link

and by 360 i mean 180, lol math

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:02 (eleven years ago) link

Yeeeeah. Also fuck you people, read the damn books.

how did I get here? why am I in the whiskey aisle? this is all so (Laurel), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:04 (eleven years ago) link

yeah i really can instantly recall the 3 second mention of this which i last saw in 2011 sometime.

did anyone find the battle intensely confusing? what were they all chanting at tyrion?

ooooiiiioooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaoooooh un - bi - leevable! (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:11 (eleven years ago) link

"Halfman"

Number None, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:12 (eleven years ago) link

"half-man" but the rhythm of it made it sound more like "man-half" or perhaps sound like nothing at all so it took a while to scan.

xp or that

"Holy crap," I mutter, as he gently taps my area (silby), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:12 (eleven years ago) link

his face is burned!!
xp

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:16 (eleven years ago) link

I think the thing w/ the Hound's PTSD scene is that it just happened too damn quickly for me. A little more rubbing our faces in the horror of the situation might have sold it a little better imo

Simon H., Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:18 (eleven years ago) link

that's what i mean about tv being a medium of rubbing people's facing in the seemingly obvious

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 15:24 (eleven years ago) link

at least traditionally
