as far as the strip club thing goes, i'll try to dig it up, but my time in grad school in retrospect was kind of a mistake and i don't have a lot of that crap at hand. but i guess i can search thru gmail can't i! let me see what's up.

in terms of the ppl i'm familiar with from each there's a huge amt of crossover

i really don't know. here's my uninformed take:

the paleocons have a strain of quietism that keeps them in a box (though, yeah, tim mcveigh did kill 150+ ppl). they're paranoid and self-separated from american politics but still defined by them, if that makes sense. reverent of the constitution, etc

the new scene kids i'm more afraid of just because they're young. they'll be with us for a long while. they're a fertile idea generator, and i'm fearful of their ability to normalize hierarchy and brutality for more respectable actors -- which orgs like Mercatus and ppl like Glenn Reynolds are doing -- to say nothing at all of the trump phenomenon. they're less specifically american (even anti-american), more concerned with 'civilization'
