I always assumed this was the case, since "Mr. Que" is based on the fact that his wife posts as "quincie."

Ive always said "kew" as well. And saying Louis' name properly. And HOOS is short for HOOSTEEN so that one should be obvious!

say "hoosten" out loud - it's basically impossible to say it as "hooce-steen"

But what I'm saying is that you don't ever pronounce "hoos" as a discrete syllable in "hoosteen." Or at least I don't: I say it "hoo-steen." Which makes neither "hooze" nor "hooce" ideal; to be honest, I think I imagine the "s" as being vocalized only slightly.
