One of the best things about Youtube is listening to the intro tunes of old cartoons.

This is pretty dope IMO, especially the beat during the first verse.

This is great too, nice bassline! I didn't remember Disney cartoons had such funky themes.

Not badly animated either.

I've never heard of The Mysterious Cities of Gold, but the intro is pretty dope. The song sounds like it's from the 1970s, and it looks like it was animated in Japan.

Tuomas, Sunday, 19 July 2009 15:06 (fifteen years ago) link

It was mid-80s, and I believe it was a French/Japanese co-production. It was a fucking epic cartoon.

Actually, I think is the best intro theme from Disney's late 80s/early 90s cartoons was in TailSpin. Hu uh hu uh uh uh hu uh hu!

This show about a little panda bear was very popular in Finland back in the 80s. You can see the difference between European and American animation back then by just comparing this intro to other ones in this thread.

I don't think so. But judging from the amount of detail they took right out of his stories I'd guess he had a big part in overseeing the production. Sad this is all we have, isn't it?

Ulysses 31, Mysteries Cities of Gold, MASK, Punky Brewster, X-Men, He-Man, She-Ra, Mr T, Inspector Gadget, Dennis the Menace, Pole Position, Heathcliff...
