Weird area, I did kept second guessing if it was Bogota or not, but the street sign design was too big a factor to look elsewhere

I broke into that fortress once! Interrailing round Europe with friends in 1993 we were staying in Nafplio, after visiting the town we planned to visit the fortress on the way back to our hostel, which was on the other side, but after climbing all the way up the hill we found the fortress was closed. So we climbed up a 12ft wall, walked through it and out the other side.

― Zelda Zonk, Wednesday, 24 July 2024 07:57 (three days ago) link
My first thought was "how was this taken". I'm out of touch, but it looks too clean to have been taken with a drone, and in any case drones are stabilised, so it probably wouldn't be tilted. 2434x1164 isn't a standard resolution so it's not straight-from-the-camera. Is this the right-hand-side of a very wide, two-page panorama?
Did the photographer use a helicopter? It's a short exposure, but it looks too steady for that. So perhaps it was taken with an SLR from the viewing platform of a tall building. But it looks too low for The Shard, and that's not the view from The Shard. Or Horizon 22. It looks Southwark-esque, but that church isn't familiar.
Are there other cities in the UK with tall buildings? I don't know, I've never been anywhere else.
― Ashley Pomeroy, Wednesday, 24 July 2024 17:53 (three days ago) link
I will be amazed if this isn’t London but I can’t see any point blocks, and it’s really hard to see anything much by way of hills. Between those two things it’s it’s really hard to place The gothic church dimly visible front and left has a surprisingly unusual combo of hipped tower above a story of three lancet windows. Hasn’t helped me feel fire out where it is though
