I know it's been a while, and she's already on the second season of her new show, but I saw a preview for it last night -- and holy crap, when did she become fuckin' Joan Rivers??? Why all the plastic? What was wrong with her??

I guess this would be easier to answer if I had any idea who this person is.

She used to present a show on UK TV which presented a selection of weird/funny clips from US public access television. She was very funny and witty - also, at that time, very very attractive. The ubiquitousness of OTT grotesque cosmetic surgery in recent years is hateful and lamentable.

it fascinates me that all these people end up looking eerily the same -- vince neil, courtney love, this woman. i actually think joan rivers' work is pretty subtle next to this "rubber clown face" school of plastic surgery.

why, she's only the most woefully unfunny comedian since
uh
well, probably ever

she's only 38 - jumpin' the gun a bit there, laura. perhaps jack black dumping her left physical, as well as emotional, scars.

Cheek implants and chin implants never, ever look natural.

the only thing I remember her from is the Denis Leary No Cure For Cancer benefit that used to run on Comedy Central all the time. She was funny and hot then.

I assumed someone must have squirted sulfuric acid on her face or something, as (a) she's relatively young and (b) she was already quite attractive (regardless of how funny you think she is/isn't). Sad, really.

i always thought she was good looking. and a good writer.

Just some dude on the internet, so grain of salt, but:
For what it's worth, Laura Kightlinger has not had plastic surgery. She had JAW surgery and SKULL surgery because - if you'll bear with a non-expert description - her bones were not joined properly and her jaw was drifting out of alignment, causing her excruciating headaches. If you've seen her standup, she does a hilarious bit about her multiple (and still ongoing) procedures featuring giant projections of her medical x-rays. Just want to set the record straight on that.

None of y'all watched the Daily Show back when she was on? That was the only place I knew her from until Lucky Louie and Jackie Woodman.

Saw her on Web Soup a couple days ago and she looked OK
