as long as i'm not looking at something else, it plays like a decent version of contemporary leckman/B&S indie lounge pop (whatever you call that sound), but nothing spectacular.

and then every once in a while i DO look at the vid, and FUCKFUCKFUCK that shit.

I've been pretty unexcited about a lot of these this season, but the NAME twist at the end of the last one was a thing of beauty -- it might even beat the twist with the dead monkey in the first season.

Finally caught up with all the eps this season - first couple were a bit limp but the last two kicked ass, I hope they keep it up.

Just watched all the second season, thought the last couple and def the Jim Gaffigan episode were the best.

You need Bret's 'Mum guitar' to add the beautiful tones (high voice) "Come on, darling, Murray's okay. Why you get home so late, Gordon?" (deep voice) "I was just havin' a few beers."

So many great Dave lines in s2. I had to type this one up myself:

Dave: You oughta be careful, Bret, I heard of one rapper, he chopped this guy's whole body off. Just left the dick behind.
Jemaine: Don't you mean they chopped off his dick?
Dave: I mean they held his dick and chopped his whole body off. That's all he was in the end: a dick.

'dick' pronounced somewhere between 'duck' and 'deck', which is even better.

Re-watching this on dvd, I have been reminded of two things:

1. Todd Barry is very small.
2. Eugene Mirman, on the other hand, is quite large.

Arj Barker is a kind of angry stoner stand-up.

Kristen Schaal's stand-up persona of a demented slut was a little disturbing, which is what I gather she was aiming at.

Been watching this on DVD. Kind of underwhelmed, although I did like "Carol Brown," Brian the Prime Minister and Patton Oswalt as Elton John imitator. Need to click on that Elvis Telecom link.
