I for one welcome my new Children's Television Presenting overlord.

Floella runs a successful TV production company and is an active
Vice-President of Barnardos. She led a twenty-year campaign to create the
role of Children's Minister, which achieved its goal in 2003. She was
Chairman of the Women of the Year Lunch for five years and Chairman of
BAFTA -Television. She is a member of the OFCOM Content Board, a Millennium
Commissioner and President of the ElizabethR Commonwealth Broadcasting
Fund. Her broadcasting work has been recognised with a Special Lifetime
Achievement BAFTA and an OBE. She has recently created the Touching Success
initiative that aims to mentor and help young people from disadvantaged
backgrounds. She is an honorary graduate of the University of Exeter,
having received an Hon D.Litt last summer. She is, of course' best known
for her days as a children's TV presenter.

I was hoping Brian Cant would get it.

She was in In The Line Of Beauty on the television the other week. She played Leo's mum.

A far better actress than stuffy old Halle Berry!

Someone told me she's a real cow and hates children.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 8 June 2006 08:15 (fourteen years ago) link

What, Halle Berry? Doesn't surprise me.

The pink-shirted masses will be spluttering into their pints of snakebite and black, no doubt.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 8 June 2006 08:18 (fourteen years ago) link

If they're not eating Ben and Jerry's Black and Tan ice cream, that is.

I am wearing a pink shirt right now, however, as I say, I welcome this. What's wrong with pink shirts? Did I miss a meeting?

Also I heard the complete opposite to Alba, she was really nice, genuinely interested in stuff and really well informed. Of course everyone has bad days.
