i have friends up near lake christine fire in CO, and spend time near durango, whole situation. according to this report i can blame guns and an undocumented dane for these. [BAD ATTEMPT AT JOKE REMOVED - mod]

Like the Spring Creek Fire, which Lake Garland resident and undocumented Danish immigrant Jesper Joergensen has been accused of starting, the Lake Christine Fire is believed to have been caused by humans. According to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, 23-year-old Richard Karl Miller and 22-year-old Sarah Marcus, both residents of El Jebel, have been accused of fourth-degree arson for allegedly shooting tracer rounds at a Basalt shooting range on the evening of Tuesday, July 3, that caused the initial sparks.

Some very stupid and irresponsible target shooters started a 12,000 acre fire a few dozen miles from Portland a couple of years ago, by shooting at exploding materials at the end of summer when everything was tinder dry and just waiting for a spark.

Two weeks ago my girlfriend and I rented an airbnb mother-in-law unit in Felton, CA and spent the weekend hiking through Big Basin Redwood Park among majestic 2000 year old redwoods. This morning Felton was evacuated and tonight the entire park is on fire. SF is blanketed in smoke right now from an entirely different forest fire. The climate catastrophes scientists have been warning about for decades are here. This is the beginning of the end.

Sounds like #WalbridgeFire has grown to an estimated 20,000 acres (up from 14,000 that was just reported). Also appears to be holding west of the Big Ridge west of Dry Creek (creek). Holding at Armstrong. Let's keep it up! 💪

Indeed. The smoke on the air in the city is more noticeable but on the bright side compared to last week's crushing heat with the storms it's much cooler here at least. But here is not the entire area by a long shot -- that said I was just on the phone with my folks in Carmel, and they said that while the smoke was still around it too had been cooler. We'll just have to see how the next 36 hours goes.
