I like they way they say "Found!" like they were actively looking for it. 'I will make it my lifes work to hunt down the world's biggest wanger - for scientific research purposes only. Of course.'

These other stories sounded interesting, and, perhaps, on a theme too. These animal boffins sound a bit too involved with their work:

i think scientists are very often more obsessed and focused than is "normal" (and also more competitive than their supposedly hyper-rational field admits): their stereotypical absent-mindedness is literally a matter of mind being caught elsewhere; and they chase what they chase in order to enter intellectual history as "the wo/man who discovered [xx]"

I don't think this is a bad thing.
