So, a friend and I are going to be Daft Punk next year. FULL robot regalia, LED screens, the whole 9. Money not really an object, but how can we pull this off without it costing a million trillion bucks?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 22 November 2004 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Ok, so I just read that theirs cost 100,000 bucks. I know someone who welds, he said he totally do one of the heads but didn't know crap about the lights. He also said that it would probably be really heavy. I shal not be moved!

Haha, I wondered how long til someone suggested foil. RJG, you exceed my every expectation.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 22 November 2004 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I read somewhere that the heads are chrome, but Thomas says they are made of "steel and gold." I'm inclined not to believe this.

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 22 November 2004 21:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyone know about LEDs?

What about them? They light up when current passes through them. They are diodes. Diodes that emit light. Light emitting diodes. LEDs.

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 22 November 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

How to make them flash up and scroll "DRUNK" and "HAPPY" and stuff. I found how to put 'em together.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 22 November 2004 23:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm kind of an electrical and mechanical retard, but I'm a quick learner. If I can't hack it I'm gonna pass it to someone. My head is getting made! I just talked to the guy, he says he can do it but it's gonna cost $$.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 22 November 2004 23:47 (twenty-one years ago)

roxy-They have those baseball hats with LED flashing messages in catalogues. You could incorporate the screens into your costume somehow.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 13:48 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll help you make the LED things roxy! and buying phone cards.

that guy up there...man, the makers of the unitard should've put in a codpiece. It's just common sense.

Sorry roxy, your costume idea sounds great! I don't have any ideas for how to make it work.

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 23 November 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

anyone know where I can get that dog mask from the "Da Funk" video? I'm sure it's either a generic one that was picked up at a store or an elaborate one made for the video. But I need it!

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh I've just sent you a gmail about that, Gear.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 19:51 (twenty-one years ago)

This idea was abandoned (obv) due to the head being too expensive and unLEDable.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:14 (twenty years ago)

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:17 (twenty years ago)

where can I get inexpensive white go go boots?

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

try ebay? or go thrifting like mad.

you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a non-gnarly pair of white jeans at a thrift store, dude. and i have to lose some weight before these will be a perfect fit! right now they are tight as hell.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:26 (twenty years ago)

I don't do ebay

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

The theme for the Halloween party I'm going to is "myths and legends". Someone has already baggsied going as Everett True aka The Legend! so please suggest alternatives.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:30 (twenty years ago)

also, can I be sure that his shirt says "spectators of suicide"? I believe that it does, but I'm not even sure anymore why I think this.

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

Thrift stores have nothing good lately. The only costume you can really find is badly dressed person.

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

haha

Roxymuzak, Mrs. Carbohydrate (roxymuzak), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:40 (twenty years ago)

Or maybe middle aged lady with no sense of style

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Thursday, 29 September 2005 14:41 (twenty years ago)

I guess that's why I've been loving the chazzing lately!
