What percentage would either candidate have to win by in order for the other side to decline to challenge -- for example, if Kerry wins Florida by 15% (!!!), does the Bush Camp still claim fraud? If the results are reversed? Obviously, traditional red and blue states can be ignored in this discussion, unless Bush pulls CA and NY...

...and if he did, would the result be too bizzare to believe?

I guess they will be contested no matter what - a small margin will obviously be contested, and a surprisingly large margin would suggest tomfoolery to some. In the past there might have been space between those two, but in this election all you have to lose is a lottle more money by appealing, recounting, sueing etc., and you have a world to win.

It is about hypothetical results and how much Bush or Kerry has to win a state by in order for the result to be considered a 'mandate.'
