I seem to recall a scene from Georges Bernanos's Diary of a Country Priest where the doctor tells the protagonist that his problem isn't so much the alcohol that he drinks as the alcohol that was drunk for him, even before he was born.

There's been a big uptick in the amount of non-alcoholic/low alcoholic wines and distilled spirits in the last couple of years too.

There's a lot more session beers on tap these days but they are inexplicably still around 5%, that's not session! Well maybe it is if the IPAs are all around 6-7% now. But gimme a tasty 3.2% beer so I can drink 4-5 of them in an evening.

oddly enough I am researching the topic about the low alcohol market for an exam in June so I have been reading a lot about it.

There's a couple Texas breweries that do really good ones but they're by no means easy to find on tap... Austin Beerworks' Einhorn is a 3% Berliner Weisse sour and Jester King's Petit Prince is 2.9% Belgian Saison. And of course you can always get a Radler, but it begs for a whiskey chaser.

I was gonna say move to Utah if you want 3.2% beers, but apparently their laws have changed recently?

low % beer = more calories & more $$ for same buzz vs higher %. If something is under 5% I have a hard time choosing it.

hahaha, I want *tasty* low-ABV beers, if I want low-ABV in Texas I can always get a Lone Star Light or a Michelob Ultra.
