There's been talk of Cheney not being back since Day One of the administration.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I know, but who do you think it would be, or when they would announce this?

Kerry (dymaxia), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 16:52 (nineteen years ago) link

I feel like breaking something.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 17:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Well, if Cheney's not going to be vice-president anymore, who's going to run the country? The Masons? Again?

Cheney passed away in late 2002. It's all animatronics, but the machine is getting out of control... "Who's the boss, now?" asks the vice-presidential robot.

Well, duh. Cheney.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 18:28 (nineteen years ago) link

(or Karl Rove)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 18:29 (nineteen years ago) link

Cheney might step down, but he'll still run the country. Giuliani seems too strong of a personality to be a perfect Cheney puppet. It doesn't fit into the dynamics that were made even more obvious by the Suskind/ O'Neill book. Cheney picked himself to be VP anyway. He's not going to let anyone but his own handpicked proxy be in there.

It's a scary possibility for the 2004 election if the wrinkles are rioned out.

badgerminor (badgerminor), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 19:43 (nineteen years ago) link

plus rudy's more liberal than dubya. his gay-lovin', pro-choice ass won't go over well with the religious wackos.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 19:45 (nineteen years ago) link

and he has connections to Saddam-Loving Showbiz Types

Huck Everlasting (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 19:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, I figured that - it sounded silly. The only purpose for this would be the election.

Kerry (dymaxia), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 19:53 (nineteen years ago) link

Cheney, Schmeney... would Giuliani actually accept a Bush nomination?

Surely he's considering running for president himself -- would he sign on to a losing ticket, or risk running with an incumbent whose credentials are, even if he were to win again, questionable?

He could crush if he ran for president NOW -- could you imagine the Republicans gambling on winning with someone other than the incumbent at this point?

ModJ (ModJ), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 23:07 (nineteen years ago) link
