I'm sorry, anything with David Carradine gets a pass.

buttch (Oops), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:50 (twenty years ago) link

I've never seen it myself but for a long time I was obsessed with intoning the title in a mysterioso Eastern European spy accent: "Sssumm-err ov de Mun-kisss."

Try it, you might enjoy it as well.

Marcel Post (Marcel Post), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:52 (twenty years ago) link

(dunston checks in has been used as visuals for dj events I've done some many times)

Minger is a general purpose jock/geordie term for someone who you don't find attractive.

It can be also used as a verb. As in

Gynneth Paltrow mings so mercilessely its a wonder she does get attacke by a winged Brian Blessed with a Queen soundtrack.

She's hottt U R Gay.

I'm annoyed I can't find the original promo poster for the Billy Crystal/Alan King smarmfest Memories of Me, but it was just horrid -- Crystal and Jo Beth Williams framing King, who is wearing a ridiculous lobster costume. All three are smiling at the camera and King has outstretched arms -- or rather, claws.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:59 (twenty years ago) link

That forced quizzical look on Estevez's face in the very first pic is often seen, and is a pretty infallible (yeah, cue counter-examples) indicator of thorough dudness.

See, the problem is that, yes Mila Kunis is hotter than Christian Bale (from a het. male pov). But at the same time, the movie didn't feature her flexing in a mirror while getting/fuckking. Now that I've said that I don't know why I did.

jm (jtm), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:25 (twenty years ago) link

haha Dunston Checks In actually screams "SEE ME JONES!! I AM YOUR FUTURE FAVORITE FILM"

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 21:28 (twenty years ago) link

Tim Allen's name alone is sufficient to suggest duddom, even without the feeble poster.

See, that last one should be redeemed by having Toni Collette in it, yet this is totally cancelled out by having "the writer and star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding" as the main selling point.

I was gonna post the poster for "Theodore Rex", but then I saw I'd already done that in 2003. Seriously though, is there any other mainstream movie with a more ridiculous premise? I kinda want to see that flick, actually.
