I can't believe Hanley isn't in one of those above. Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, Buzzards I reckon.

Does anyone know what noise a giraffe makes?

Elephants: Giraffes have to spread their legs to drink. Ah... to have a prehensile nose...

It's not an answer, but.... Well, I recently saw a movie called "The Gods Must Be Crazy". One of the characters said if a rhino sees a fire, he will stomp it out. Is that true?

Actually giraffes do have vocal chords but because they are so long the noise they make is inaudible to the human ear - it is too low because the chords are too long. So Mark S wasn't far off.

Rhins:Tough,strong,mean,dangerous. Hippos:Bulky,burly,and even more dangerous.You people think that hippos are cute,lovable and harmless but they are highly aggressive they are know to topple over rafts,canoes and are known to cripple man.They are actually more dangerous that rhinos.

Is this a 'who would win in a fight?' thread? I'm going for the rhino on land but the hippo in water, the elephant unless the giraffe runs away, the wildebeest over the weedy zebra, and the buzzards could fly away so the hyenas certainly couldn't catch them. Does that help?

also one time i was at the zoo and they were preparing to give the baby hippo a bath. this was in the children's petting zoo (behind a small, low fence). they had filled a little kiddie pool (the kind you put out on the lawn) with warm water from a hose. the hippo was standing in front of it looking down, off to one side, very sheepishly (a little sad, too). the zookeeper was pouring water from the hose onto his back, petting him, saying "it's ok, it's ok, see?" then she turned to us and said "well, he's a little nervous about going in because he thinks it's going to be cold"

baby hippos win!!

It may be apocryphal, but I heard long ago that hippos kill more people than any other large mammal in Africa. Crocodiles may be somewhat more dangerous than hippos, but then, they're not mammals, amirite?
