If anybody here could provide me with information regarding the paintings/posters of nude women with afros on Scatman Crothers' character Dick Hallorann's walls, I would greatly appreciate it. Extensive Googling has turned up nil so far.

I think the only thing that made me laugh in the Royal Tennenbaums were the paintings in Owen Wilson's living room. I seriously lost it and I'm pretty sure I was the only one in the theater laughing at that moment. I want the one with the guys in the masks sitting on the ATV's.

Dave: Paintings of Miguel Calderon.

Calderon himself, according to an interview I heard, had nothing to do with the paintings beyond having people pose for photographs and then hiring some schmo painters turn the photos into vaguely sloppy portraiture. Kind of interesting.

"Richie's work had failed to progress" yes it was hilarious but being dim me I didn't notice what was going on in all the pictures till everyone else in the cinema was laughing and the moment was kind of spoiled.

'Lost', rather than 'spoiled'. I'm not some madman who thinks something is ruined by other people laughing at it.

Though I was kind of perturbed by the group of people behind me who burst into hysterics and started talking to each other in an unidentifiable language every time a Gypsy Cab appeared.
