Townsend-Swiatek is warming up. Long time fan of Taylor T, her defeat of Halep at USO a few years back was one of the great net-rushing performances. World class doubles player now.

I've only ever seen TT in doubles, but she's really warming up now, as you say!

Serena's comeback attempt after 4 years away is now over I see. She won a set at least.

beaten 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3 by an opponent less than half her age, 20-year-old Maya Joint of Australia, in the opening round of Wimbledon.

Watched most of the Serena match. She needs actual match play to get her timing and movement back to a state that would be competitive at a high-level, but her ballstriking was really, really good. She's in better physical shape than she was in her last 2 or 3 years in the tour... If she were to make a serious go of a comeback, this match suggests she could be at least "Hingis' first un-retirement" level competitive and get herself into the second week of a major or two.
