this video touches on winter sports in general, and in canada. it includes hockey, of course, as it has been canada's "main sport" historically, but the pay to play is barring newer generations from playing it, and so the talent pool could dwindle (i don't think this claim is actually substantiated currently, though, but i guess it's too early to tell) - anyway, didn't know where else to put it
