Le Bonheur, Sunrise or The Birds

all of those are great, as are Black Girl, Wanda, In Vanda’s Room, The Headless Woman

still haven't seen Sambizanga, Tie Xi Qu: West of the Tracks, or The Watermelon Woman

City of Sadness over In Vanda's Room, though neither is exactly a fun night at the movies, even for my tastes.

Halfway there but for you, Saturday, 9 September 2023 15:39 (two weeks ago) link

Another TWBB vote from me. Sorry not sorry.

I've only seen 11 or possibly 12 (can't remember if I watched Orlando or not).

I voted Black Girl. I'm not always into naturalism, but that movie is lethally concise

A lot of great movies on that list, but I'm shocked "Sunrise" was ignored.

Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 9 September 2023 16:17 (two weeks ago) link

I've been wanting to watch it, but as long as I've been looking A City of Sadness has not been available on streaming or on dvd in the US

SHOAH baby, SHOAH

I watched A City of Sadness in 2018 or '19 on YouTube.

As much as Sunrise deserves to run this table, I voted Black Girl

I voted Black Girl. I'm not always into naturalism, but that movie is lethally concise

Exactly my thought, it does so much with so little. My vote too, tho could have easily gone with Sunrise, Pandora’s Box, Johnny Guitar or The Headless Woman.

A lot of amazing films here!

Voted Symbiopsychotaxiplasm. One of my very favorite films.

Honorable mentions to Black Girl and Videodrome

Flipping a coin between Wanda and Videodrome

Elvis Telecom, Monday, 18 September 2023 05:01 (six days ago) link

I know Sunrise deserves this, but I’m voting for Moonlight. It’s a movie that doesn't seem to be well-liked here but it is one of those films about queer identity that has burned itself into my memory with the first watch

Dan S, Monday, 18 September 2023 23:01 (six days ago) link

I was never remotely mad about Moonlight crashing the top 100, or Get Out or etc.

More L’avventuras c. ‘62 please

Moonlight is lovely, it's just got a lot of competition in this poll.
